List of Jaya K. George-Abraham Md's Reviews
Wanted to take the time to leave this review since none have been left recently. Unfortunately, our experience of their service is still just as bad as previous reviews have indicated. In general, we were very unimpressed with Dr GA's bedside manner, and the insensitivity. Our daughter was diagnosed with a very rare genetic disorder. Dr GA's office didn't end up doing much of the work, as they really only collected the blood sample and sent it off to a lab to be analyzed. They required our daughter to miss school to return for the diagnosis, which we thought was unnecessary, and uncomfortable to have such a serious conversation in front of our daughter at the time. The worst experience was when we reached out to the office to have them fill out a form confirming the diagnosis. She was unwilling to complete it because it had been longer than a year since she'd seen her. I guess that can be your policy, but we had to pull our daughter out of school for a virtual appointment at which no new information was offered, she wasn't overly prepared, the "exam" consisted of looking at our daughters fingers on the screen, and then they proceeded to charge us for a full office visit. Very tacky. Their office was very difficult to work with in a timely manner also. They made excuses about not getting the faxed forms we sent over to have them fill out, and once they acknowledged they had received them, took their time getting them back to the school. Needless to say, we won't be going back. Looking into new options.
She is very thorough, always spends a lot of time answering questions and takes into account everything going in across all specialists we see and helps with bigger picture. She sends us the latest research and helpful info she comes across with my daughter's syndrome.
I've been seeing Dr. George-Abraham. Absolute worst communication I have ever had to deal with. Office visits are fine and the Doctor is very thorough. Unfortunately, when you try to contact them later on about things they have asked you to check on and follow-up with you get routed to the triage nurse (which I can understand because they are a specialist doctor's office) BUT she never answers the phone and you have to leave a voicemail which is irritating all on its own but then when you do leave a voicemail they never follow up with you. I went into their office in June 2017 where they told me they would let me know when they finished checking with insurance about blood tests. Never received a call back so I called them end of July chasing for an update where I got the voicemail again and they finally called me back 2 weeks later. Now it being December I'm having to chase them again for information. Worst. Experience. Ever!!! They need to hire more or at least better triage nurses if they expect to remain in business.
This has more to do with her office since we didnt actually get to see the doctor. First, let me start by saying that I understand if you are late to an appointment it pushes other appointments back and there is a long wait time to get into this place, I totally understand that. However this office provided no information prior to the appointment. No directions, no notice of the strict 15 min grace period, no floor number, or other helpful information that could have assisted us. We showed up in this shopping center 15 min before our appointment (would have been sooner but come on we have an infant) and there are 3 pediatrics buildings in this center with no signage. We ventured into 2 wrong buildings meanwhile calling this office consistently trying to get someone on the phone. We called 5 times before someone answered. Finally we asked which building they were in and explained we were lost and because of that we were running late, the lady on the phone was not very helpful and told us that is was fine. When we finally get there, there was a small sign on the parking lot but no sign on the actual building (we are 20 min late at this point). The ladies at the office told us we could not see the doctor as she has a strict 15 min late policy. I told her we called several times and that no one helped with directions and the lady told us to come on in. They were very rude and unapologetic. They had been rude from the beginning when we made the appointment. It took us 5 months to even get this appointment and they said we would have to reschedule for another 6 months away. No thank you. Taking my little one elsewhere. I would rather drive to Houston then to deal with these ladies again.
We are grateful that she was able to diagnose our child very quickly. Our journey could have been long and drawn out but she got us the diagnosis within 3 weeks of our initial appointment. Our hearts were broken, but it was imperative to get our son the diagnosis to get the proper medical care he needs. We hear horror stories from other parents trying to figure out what is going on with their child, and I can't imagine the agony of not being able to get the medical puzzle put together. Our family is extremely grateful!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
