John S Murray's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Murray is the ideal primary care physician (PCP). He is an independent practitioner in the style of the archetypal small-town family doctor with an absolute focus on the patient. I especially appreciated being able to have unhurried conversations and how thoroughly he answered my questions.

If I could give Dr. Murray and his practice a higher star rating, I would. Please ignore the others who had less than optimal experience. I guess that's healthcare. Dr. Murray is kind, thorough, competent and very approachable. His staff was very professional and gave me an appointment on the same day. Can those big company practices give you that? I didn't feel rushed. I felt that he truly wanted to know my medical history and takes detailed notes. He explained the condition I was experiencing and told me my options. The facilities and equipment are dated. However, this is your old world clinic with the competence and care you should expect in 2023. The best primary care experience in over 25 years as a consumer.

Great doctor, horrible receptionist Dr. Murray is fantastic, attentive, and will make you feel cared for without rushing you. His office is in an old style, but it is charming in a way. Note: there is no patient portal so everything is done through mail / phone - this is fairly annoying, although I know that several older offices do this. However, as a patient, I spend more time booking appointments, asking for information, and getting my results than I do spending time with the doctor. This part of Dr. Murray's office is so atrocious that this office is one I cannot at all recommend. To preface, I am not someone who expects receptionists to be friendly. However, at least one of the receptionists at Dr. Murray's office is rude and combative in a way I have never interacted with before. I came away from the conversation baffled from what escalated her to a tone of frustration and anger with me. She was thoroughly unhelpful.

I was hopeful Dr. Murray could help me but he barely did anything, no options, no course of action, no prescription or pain reliever recommendation for my ankle. He just moved it around and said "well it's not broken". Though nothing was done, I decided to pay on site just to get it over and go to another Dr for help. But their office doesn't handle processing payments well either as I got a bill months later, the receptionist was rude over the phone, the person who handled my payment inconveniently only comes to the office a few times a year, the billing department has no one available with whom to discuss the matter. I finally got to someone who said I paid but I then got the same bill months later. Definitely not going back to that office, most because of the Dr and receptionist. To my relief, physically and mentally, I found another practice that helped me.

Kind and considerate but Blunt at times. He is my primary care physician as well as my wife's. He and his father were primary care for my mother-in-law as well.

Takes the time to listen. Also do not have to wait long to see doctor

I was able to get in to see Dr. Murray in a matter of 2 hours! The MA was wonderful. She answered every question I had over the phone. When I arrived there was only about a 5 minute wait and I was being taken back by the Dr. Himself. He is self sufficient and I really like the fact that he did everything himself. He listened to my list of concerns and took time to address them all with no rush! Love this office and the way it operates.

I recommend Dr Murray very highly I am so grateful that I have him as my Doctor
