Dr. Schmitz is a rare, outstanding find. Dr. Schmitz spends a lot of time, asks probing questions, and is interested in understanding and thinking through the way multiple health behaviors / conditions / factors interface. She's knowledgeable and wise, and spends more time with her patients than the typical practitioner. Excellent staff as well.

Expensive Practice, Limited Care, Patient NeglectMy first pregnancy. I do not recommend this place for first time mamas or anyone who values their time or anyone who doesn’t want to feel like just a number and a dollar sign. I’ve never experienced such an unusual practice. I initially chose Austin Springs Women’s Health because of the good reviews for Dr. Martha Schmitz. It’s not the most high-tech facility but I kinda liked the mom and pop feel to it…at first. This is my first pregnancy which comes with a lot of questions and anxieties. At first, Ms. Howard (NP) and the staff seemed to be very thorough. I really liked that they offered a lot of testing and seemed to be very proactive. As my pregnancy progressed their staff started to drop like flies (now I know why)…my files, test results, insurance claims and much more got lost in translation and each appointment felt like the very first one. Attached with one big price tag! Not to mention I had to wait to see someone for at least an hour after my schedule appointments and spent at least 2hrs there for a 10 min/rushed visit from Dr Schmitz who didn’t seem to even remember a single thing about me or my pregnancy. I had to answer the same questions over and over and constantly advocate for myself in ways I shouldn’t have. Dr. Schmidt was overbooked and tired and honestly out of it most of the time. Even if she was being carried by her team… her team was blunt and rude and very adamant about payment which made the experience even more sour. I did a transfer of care at 36 weeks pregnant because I was so over the way I was being treated. Wish I would have made that switch way sooner.

Dr. Schmitz is incredible! She’s so kind and knowledgeable. You can tell she really cares for her patients.

I was referred by my friend to Dr.Schmidt for my 2nd pregnancy. By far the best experience I’ve had.

I chose this doctor after mine retired. First visit went awesome very Thorough and courteous. Hadn’t been seen there in a while when in for a visit three times they asked me if I had a hysterectomy I told them no they would state that I did again then they were supposed to call in a prescription for me told me to go off my cholesterol medicine while I take it that was on Monday this is now Thursday no one can reach them and they haven’t called in the prescription. I can’t get through the patient portal because every time I put in my information it won’t let me get in it throws me out I will not be going here again and do not recommend.

This is a clinic where I have plenty of confidence, where they treat me well, with respect, consideration. Dr. Martha Schmitz is a great professional and most of all, a great human being, she listens, she understands me, and she always has the right diagnosis. When I go there, It feels like home, they give me the best welcome!

It was overall a great experience! They made sure to know how my insurance worked and took the time to make sure all my questions were answered. I wasn’t a big fan of my previous OBGYN and now I know I was right to switch!

Dr. Schmitz and her great team have always been there for my needs, however small or big they may be. I can always count on them to hear my concerns regarding my health and even just a lending ear. I am very grateful to have them be a part of my life. I have nothing but respect, and gratitude for this great place.
