List of Martin Thai's Reviews
The Dr spoke NOT TO ME but to my boyfriend about my pain issues and treatment we both walked out of the appointment asking each other, "Did he REALLY just ignore the patient and address all the medical info at the man in the room?!?" Dr. Thai was rude and snarky. Never mind he smiled when he asked me to repeat embarrassing and humiliating information numerous times and snapped that he HAD READ my neurosurgeons notes when I asked for some clarification on a topic I felt they diverged on. Also, five minutes after I said I would not be pursuing steroid injections for very valid reaction reasons he suggested steroid injections should nerve ablation not be the route we took. I called the office and cancelled all my future appointments w him due to how uncomfortable he made me and the receptionist didn't even ask what made me so uncomfortable. I found a wonderful Dr. who is kind and helpful and highly skilled. Never let someone talk down or diminish you even if they promise pain relief.
I was a patient up until last year of August. This Dr is great at what he does. Which is control chronic pain after 4 surgeries on my neck and spine, because I was getting older I started to hurt all over. Some of it was nerve and some of it was all that trauma to my body. While I was seeing me he pin pointed both my nerve and bone pain. Plus his front office lady is so nice. My wait was never long. I highly recommend this Dr. I have since moved from Austin and I have not dealt with his equal yet.
Absolutely, without a doubt, hands down, the best pain mgmt doctor. Love Dr. Thai, his demeanor, bedside manner, ability to put you at ease and explain everything. I’ve been seeing him on and off for the last few years. I am so confident in him that I now take my injections without sedation (I only did sedation once, the first time). He’s got such skilled hands. Go see him.
Dr Thai has been my pain management doctor for more than 10 years now. He’s a wonderful doctor. His practice has been life saving. I highly recommend him. Professional staff and great people. His PA’s are top notch and I wouldn’t trade them for the world.
Dr Martin Thai is an excellent pain management doctor. I have been working with him for over 1 yr and he is always ensuring the best solution is explored and pursued. From the beginning, Dr Thai has taken the time to assess my scenario and take an objective approach to best identify the least invasive and disruptive procedures to help reduce my pain. The staff is always amazing, the nurse are always responsive, and the billing was excellent when my prior insurance was very difficult and nonresponsive. I highly suggest Dr Martin Thai and am very grateful for his help!
What can I say about Dr. Thai. I have been his patient since he started in Austin 10 years ago. We sometimes joke around that I have been around since the beginning. If the fact that I have been with him for 10+ years is not enough to show how I feel about him then let me give my opinion. Dr Thai is the first dr I have ever seen that really trully cares about all his patients. When I see him we talk, not just about my conditions, but our families which he remembers all my kids names. He knows my condition and treats it with combination of Injections and other thearapies. If I need anything he is a phone call away and takes care of any problems that have come up in the last ten years. I could not replace him. I am a mathematician and he is the smartest person I know. I also can not say enough about his staff, Tessa is an amazing NP and takes care of my regular visits as long as nothing has changed. She also knows me and is the best NP I have ever known, another that could not be replaced. Candace at the front desk knows my voice and when I call she always asks me how I am doing and what she can do for me. Marie always calls to remind me of appointments and is always so kind. If you are in pain and need a pain management dr that will be honest and treat you like a person and a friend, Dr. Thai is the person you should see. He wont lie or do stuff that is not needed. Go see him, you will never go anywhere else. I am proof after over 10 years with him, I will never go anywhere else.
Excellent doctor, staff. Professional service. Dr. Thai is friendly and dedicated to his craft. Emma is awesome!
Dr. Thai has been my pain management doctor for several years and I cannot say enough good things about him and his entire staff. Dr. Thai is a caring and capable physician who treats his patients as if they were his own family member. I have always received the highest level of care here and my pain level has either been reduced or maintained. As a long time pain patient I am extremely happy with ...
My husband had gone to Dr. Thai for knee and hip injections for pain years ago. When I ended up with a really bad pinched nerve in my neck, that went down to my finger tips, I followed my Physical Therapist's recommendation for a Pain Doctor in my area. It turned out that the Doctor said I needed an injection in my vertabrae . When I scheduled the procedure, the facility was on the other side of Austin. Soooooo, when that procedure did not solve all of my problems, I decided to give Dr. Thai a visit since my husband had such great experiences with him. Well, needless to say, Dr. Thai was wonderful. I thought I would need another procedure but he tried less invasive ideas. It worked. My pain down my arm is gone. He is so easy to speak with and I always had all my questions answered. The office staff was polite and always answered my calls. I even had them talk to me on my cell phone when I got lost on the way to my first appointment. Hands down, I would recommend Dr. Thai if someone has pain problems. My problems were solved, thanks to Dr. Thai.
I’ve seen Dr. Thai for approximately 10 years, after trying to find a good pain management doctor in Austin for approx. 5 years and seeing a few other pain management specialists. As long as I’m in Austin I will never see another pain management doctor. Dr. Thai is extremely knowledgeable about new developments in pain management and, in my experience, his skills actually produce results. I’ve had lumbar injections from other PM docs in the past, but only Dr. Thai’s lumbar injections worked for me. He’s the only PM Dr. who I ever felt comfortable getting cervical injections from (the injections didn’t help, but I know that’s because of my condition, not because of Dr. Thai’s technique). Being in pain is hard, and people don’t always like to hear what the PM doc tells them, but Dr. Thai is compassionate and honest, so you can trust what he tells you and you can trust that you’re getting the best pain management care available (he actually coordinated care with my neurosurgeon!).

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
