Nurse Karen Skincare & Med Spa's Online Review Report Card

I recently visited Nurse Karen for Botox, and she did an amazing job--my lines are noticeably smoother, but I still look like me. The space is clean, calming, and welcoming. Karen and Laken make a fantastic team--I felt completely taken care of from start to finish. Would 10/10 recommend and go back!

First, the pros: I recently visited this office for a facial--I was scheduled for sixty minutes, it took about thirty five, and I was only charged for a half hour, which I appreciated. My facialist was friendly, and on time. I had a quick consultation remotely before my in-office appointment, and was excited based on that experience. The office was clean and everyone I encountered was professional. Cons: I booked based on the reviews, and this experience was not what I expected. To level set, I haven't had a facial in several years, and never from a med spa. I wasn't queried for what products I use, or what my existing routine is, and had to ask if any of them would cause interactions with the services being performed. I had my first microdermabrasion and dermaplaning sessions, and was told that I might have a tiny cut or two that would heal within a day--I ended up with several cuts along my throat and jawline that are still healing three days later. My skin is starting to break out (this is not normal for me) which sounds like it may be because my skin wasn't cleansed or prepped in any way before either treatment. After dermaplane and microdermabrasion, there was a quick cleanse, clay mask, moisturizer and sunscreen and I was out the door. She said there wasn't much more to do for my skin, which may have been true. I was recommended follow up treatments and their product line, both of which I declined. It looks like this place has many good reviews, and if I'd asked more questions in my consultation I might have had a better experience, but I thought this might help set expectations for others looking for this type of service.

I’ve known Nurse Karen for a long time, but we’ve lived in different places, so never had a chance to connect. We share a group of friends & I remember years ago, one friend’s skin in particular looked radiant- I asked & found out they had been to Karen for a facial. Who knew a facial alone could make such a difference? Anyway, I finally coordinated during a trip to Austin, we had a consultation scheduled- when I left, my skin was clear from the laser treating my capillaries & had a smoother texture from the dermaplaning & mask. have an improved version of my face already & feel amazing! We’re getting together soon to follow through with our treatment plan & I can’t wait. Karen is a joy to be around, she’s knowledgable, honest & open about treatment options. And funny to boot.

Absolutely love and adore all of my services with Nurse Karen and Laken. Their studio is light filled and gorgeous and always so much fun seeing them both. They are the best in the business and I've been going to them for the past five years. Laken gives the best lymphatic drainage facial and best dermaplaning facial. Nurse Karen has the best expertise with Botox, laser and fillers, and I would absolutely never trust anyone else with those types of services.

Nurse Karen provides an experience that is truly one-of-a kind in the best ways possible. She also makes sure to allot ampule time for your appointment and to answer all your questions, so you never feel like just another patient being rushed out the door. When it comes to aftercare, she always makes sure to text you to see how everything is going, offer tips, and to further answer any questions you may have. She is always responsive and there for any and every kind of skin emergency. When it comes to her treatments, they have completely transformed my skin. I have been seeing her for an over two years now. She has treated me with RF microneedling for scaring and active acne, biostimulators, threads, microdermabrasion… you name it! Each one has come out looking flawless and she was always there for all of my questions afterwards. She kind of makes it feel like you’re not going through it alone. Her products are also amazing. I LOVE her clay mask. There is a noticeable difference in the size of bumps and pores after you wash it off, and it doesn’t dry out my already dry skin. I could go on and on about how amazing she is, but the bottom line is: if you’ve been thinking about it, do it! I promise you won’t be disappointed. She is kind, genuine, warm and amazing at what she does!

I went in for micro needling with Nurse Karen and loved my results. She is so gentle and calming and took such great care of me. It was such a relaxing environment and the compliments I received regarding my skin after just that one treatment (I've had 2 so far) are amazing!
