List of Parisa Lamei's Reviews
I had been with this optometrist office for many years, at least ten. Initially the service was wonderful. To be clear, Dr Lamei has always been an extremely good optometrist. However, as time has gone on, we began to see less of her and more of other optometrists - often times without prior knowledge. We had a few issue with other optometrist's...things like suggesting that my daughter's prescription may not be accurate because she's young and "kids her age often time lie" or other optometrists at the practice not working well with young children. However, we continued to stick it out with this practice because Dr Lamei is a good eye doctor, my kids had only ever been to this optometrist office, and the machine that allows us to forgo dilation (that last one is silly, I know). However, like most, the pandemic years and "opening back up" were extremely tough on my household causing us to need to reschedule often. This included things like working full time and being a part time student through the death of a grandparent, a career change, four rounds of contracting Covid (for my whole household), having been hospitalized for double pneumonia and needing recovery time from that. So yes, I rescheduled often with them over about the span of a year. Each time I was spoken down to and threatened with cancellation fees. If that's your policy, I understand, but the delivery of the message is so hostile it became more clear that there is no concern for the well being of their patients. The day I cancelled because my grandfather was actively transitioning into death, I was told that there would be a cancellation fee. I apologized and told them that I couldn't have possibly known to have schedule around my grandfathers death. After a brief pause the receptionist said with contempt, "I'll wave it this time since your grandfather is passing away, but next time I'm going to have to charge you." That was the beginning of my "year of rescheduling". The final straw was when I was unable to make it due to my children and I having missed too much work and school because we had JUST gotten over Covid. I called to reschedule twenty four hours in advance, so I was under the impression that I was within their cancellation policy. She rudely replied that since I had three appointments that I should've called 72 hours in advance, NOT 24. I apologized, informed her that I wasn't aware of that, and explained why my visit would need to be rescheduled. I tried to find dates that would work for all of us, and with every date suggested she would always have a snarky way of reminding me that I had rescheduled many times. I remained patient as I gave her the benefit of the doubt that she just didn't understand everything I had been through. However, she persisted with her comments on my rescheduling in a way that made it sound like my family and I were a nuisance to the practice. I started to get irritated, but politely assured her that I wasn't rescheduling so I could be out frolicking about Austin instead of getting proper medical care for my family and I, I had truly been going through a lot. She was so cold she didn't even respond to that statement, she just proceeded giving me availability dates. Eventually we finally found two time blocks that I thought would fit my family's schedule. Before the call was over, I asked when the 72 hr policy began because I was a patient for almost ten years and I don't remember ever being told anything other than 24 hrs (and I clarified that my question was simply out of curiosity). Clearly the question struck a nerve, because though she had a rude tone the whole call, without hesitation she began scolding me and telling me that I needed to stop rescheduling or just cancel until I could make an appointment I knew I would be able to keep because every time I reschedule the practice is losing money because of me. I was so shocked by her lack of compassion or even an attempt at empathy. On the verge of tears, I told her that at this point I didn't even feel like a welcomed patient anymore so I was tempted to just cancel these appointments and find a different optometrist. Her reply was a simple "Ok." While she may not owe me sympathy, I also don't need an attitude when I'm trying to recover and get myself and two students back on track. Apparently professionalism no longer exists here either. Even though service was a little questionable at times and the variety of eyewear from my favorite brands was declining, I stuck around for a long time because of Dr Lamei and I liked the feel of a small practice. However the front desk staff's attitude and lack of compassion is what pushed me out. Little did they know that I had over $5k in my FSA that I had budgeted for braces and couldn't get (because of all the circumstances above). I was at a point where I had to use it or lose it. But because of that ONE phone call, another optometrist got all of it (plus my insurance benefits).
The staff is really friendly. The wait was not long and the Dr was very thorough and took the time to explain the results and answer questions.
I must say, so pleased with Dr. Lamei and everyone at Eye Tech. I have been a contact lens and glasses wearer for over 20 years and Dr. Lamei offered me some great information that I'd never heard before! She was also very thorough in explaining her observations, and generous in sending me home with lots of new lenses to try. So happy to have found this practice.
One of the best doctors I’ve ever seen, she is professional, thorough, explains everything very clearly and yet very prompt. Office staff are very friendly and professional. I strongly recommend her to whoever wants to have a complete eye exam.
I've been going to Dr. Lamei about ten years now. She's very patient and thorough and explains everything until you understand. I won't go to any other eye Dr.!
Incredible staff, courteous and professional. Dr. Lamei is thorough and stays in contact with you to make sure you are pleased.
The staff at Dr. Lamei's practice is professional and extremely helpful. Selecting new frames has always been difficult for me because my eyesight is so limited. Ruby gathered a large selection of frames for me to try and then took a snapshot of each pair so I could see them after putting on my current prescription lenses. That took a lot of time and patience. I also have a lot of faith that I have been given the correct lens prescription. Between Rosa and Dr. Lamei's testing, I am confident I will be seeing clearly and correctly for the first time in a few years. When you find an excellent professional, stick with her.
I love Dr. Lamei. I've been seeing her for a few years now and I've never been disappointed. Just had my checkup- when I was done needed to shop for glasses for the first time in years and didn't know where to start. Dr. Lamei let me know I was her last client, so she had time to help me shop and we played with all the frames. I'm sorry- I love my job too, but usually on Friday afternoon I'm ready to run the heck out of there. She didn't rush me at all and was happy to help me narrow it down. If she hadn't, I'd probably still be standing there deciding instead of writing this review. I always feel well taken care of by her and her staff. She seems extremely knowledgeable and I definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a opthamologist!
Great staff and Doctor always friendly and informative. Make an appointment you wont be disappointed.
Dr. Parish Lamei is nice, kind and caring person. I would recommend my friends and my relatives to see her.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
