List of Peter V. Ching's Reviews
After suffering from diastasis recti and an umbilical hernia for several years and several pregnancies, I heard about Dr. Ching and his ability to correct both of my issues laparoscopically using the DaVinci machine. This was the BEST decision I ever made, and am thrilled with my results. For anyone that has dealt with DR, you can't imagine the feeling when you can finally wear a normal shirt and not worry about your belly poking out! It was seriously life changing for me. For the last 10+ years I looked perpetually four months pregnant, I was asked when my baby was due, I had constant lower back pain. I cannot thank Dr. Ching enough for this surgery and highly recommend him. He is very personable, very thorough in his explanations and a skilled surgeon!
I had more courage l would post photos of me before and after my multiple hernia surgery and diastesis reparation. Nobody can't believe his eyes even me. I have 3 children l am fit and muscular but nothing absolutely no exercise could fix my bloated stomach . Dr Ching was recommended by one of my doctors other surgeons proposed opening similar to C-section what would require longer recovery time. Dr Ching used Da Vinci robot l had 3 small incisions 3 on my line of c section and one in my belly button almost invisible already after 5 weeks from surgery.l have never been that flat for last 15 years , basically the size of my all clothes went down. I was constantly feeling bloated and looked like. It's a life changer surgery for me personally. Multiple hernias 5 and cm diastesis. Recovery time count 1 week in bed. You will be up after 3-4 days but all sneezing caughing are painful and you gave impression you will torn everything. Corsaires l was wearing 2 helps eating almost soups and liquids helps. You are swallowed for few weeks , bruises are moving down . I haven't been bloated at all as many complains. It was 3 living carefully weeks and pretty normal 2 others . Of course no lifting l could not even take of a galon of milk just started after 4 weeks.. Dr Ching is excellent surgeon, calm reassuring ans he knows what is he doing. I have 14x30 cm piece of meche.
Dr. Ching was very professional and did a wonderful job with my hernia repair. My surgery went well, I am healing great, and my incision is almost unnoticeable. My friend is a nurse that used to work with him and said he was awesome and that his patients always did well post-op. Looking forward to working with him in the future! (Jk, hopefully not!!)
Dr. Ching seems like an excellent doctor but who would really know in my household? We saw him and we even agreed to use him as a surgeon but the lazy people in his office didn't call and schedule our surgery. Wow have you ever had this happen? We sure haven't! Bad practice, bad faith, bad service.
Stay away! There are too many other surgeons in Austin to have to put up with this one! His office staff has the worse work ethIc I have ever seen. They did not even bother to call our insurance company or the hospital to get my husband in for surgery. We caught them in a lie and they just pretended we didn't exist it was bizarre. And folks my husband was in severe pain from his gallbladder and needed surgery. So when we realized what they were up to we went directly to the office and still they wouldn't do there job. At this point we had found another surgeon but instead of having surgery right away it took a several days. Seriously stay away!
Well we had a very nice plan of action to get surgery. Afterwards the ball was absolutely dropped. We NEVER never heard from the staff that was supposed to make arrangements with the hospital. We even called our insurance company and checked up to see if they had called. The staff never even called our insurance company. This is a joke of a team! For someone in pain this doctor and his staff were negligent.
Dr Ching was the on-call surgeon at St Davids South when my husband was admitted for appendicitis. The nurses weren't sure if they would operate that night or wait until the morning. Dr Ching chose to do it that night, and my husband was in and out in 40 minutes. Dr Ching was friendly and patient with our questions during pre-op, and sat with me in the surgery waiting room to explain how the surgery went. He was kind and thorough, and we are very happy Dr Ching was our surgeon.
Dr. Ching spent a lot of time with me explaining in easy terms a very complicated medical condition which gave me a much better understanding of my situation. I asked many questions and he answered them all just as clearly. And he has a great bed side manner, he's funny.
Dr. Ching was patient and very specific. He did not appear to be rushed. I could explain my issues and concerns with him without interruption. This was my first visit with him and I am comfortable with his skill set for my surgical procedure to follow. Dr. Ching did not "sugar coat" post operation recovery and informed me that "it" would be painful for approximately one week after with full recovery in about four weeks. Feeling relieved and hopeful. Stay tuned as I will update this review.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
