Urology Austin's Online Review Report Card

I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer and after being rushed thru the appointments, biopsy and Surgeon meeting (who I spent less then 5 minutes with) I was scheduled the next morning for surgery. I never saw the surgeon again and after my complications were dismissed as "not their problem" I have not returned. I had a bowel impaction after my prostatectomy and Zero concern was given. The moment I regained consciousness I was rushed out the hospitals back door. The surgeon never responded to any communications and I was forced to deal with his dismissive and rude assistant. She even told me to send any further communications to HER because he didn't have time to respond to his emails. They are impossible to get on the phone, On Call Drs are rude and dismissive. The staff are over worked, under trained and make frequent billing mistakes. After my surgery I have had persistent, chronic pain that was not present prior to the procedure and yet they claimed it was nothing they caused. I had to receive lumbar injections which failed to relieve the pain. 6 months after the procedure I still cannot sit or lay down comfortably. The "newsletter" I received after my prostatectomy had a lovely statement from their president saying how he knows their phone systems suck and that patient care was suffering but they had over 50,000 calls a month so give them a break. Its gonna take more than a new phone system to fix their loss of compassion and commitment to the hippocratic oath. If you want to be treated like a part on an assembly line and contribute to their patient to Profit business model - good luck with that.

One of the worst medical offices I have ever been to. Not only did the provider lack any compassion but their office is impossible to get a hold of. I’ve called multiple times and been on hold for over an hour and could not get a hold of anyone so I had to drive up there to talk to them in person and they still did not resolve my issue. Never going back there nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Every time we call for an appointment or talking to the nurse, it takes us an hour or more! Unbelievable

Every single time I tried to call them it is at least a 40 min. Holding time… every single time. I’m now at my appointment with the lab and the clinic never sent the lab order. I’m waiting at the lab waiting for someone to pick up the phone. Their communication is terrible

Had a successful procedure here (thanks), but came back for something else, and it ended up in some weird situation where they said they didn't recommend I do it, but they'd do labs on me a bunch of times anyway. Then at the end of going back there once a week for three weeks in a row, I had to come in (and wait half an hour) just to be told, again, it wasn't recommended. Ok. Then why waste all my time? Can something that simple not be communicated over the phone? It was not even worth my time to hear that news. I would have rather they'd ghosted me. Email me the lab results, say nothing about them, and don't call me back. That would have been better than having me drive to the office for a "no we can't do it" consultation. It's not a relationship, you don't have to let me down gently in person. If you're so busy that you can't see a 3pm appointment until 3:30, then surely you don't need to bilk people out of in-person visit money. You could have sent me a homing pigeon. A singing telegram. But you chose to ask me to come in 3 times just for it to go absolutely nowhere. I don't mind the outcome (contrary to what the Dr. implied in his notes "patient got upset at this and walked out") as much as I mind being strung along and having my time wasted. This behavior indicates whoever makes these decisions at Urology Austin doesn't believe their patients' resources of time and money are important. Anybody know of a good urologist in Austin? I'm looking for one.

Why does it take so long to get through to Urology Austin to schedule an appointment. Today I have spend 2.5 hours on hold!! Last time it was about 1.25 hours on hold!! Super difficult to get these folks on the phone. Nurse examining me was kinda rough with one of the boys, was sore for a few days. Place is dirty AF, there is an arm chair with dirty arm stains, nasty carpet, and the windows look like they've never been cleaned. I want a vasectomy but I canceled my appointment for the surgery. Any place that has no respect for a patient waiting area is not gonna cut my balls. Also, I waited on hold for 25 minutes until I got someone to cancel my appointment.
