I have a deductible I haven't met yet and wanted to find out the cost for a common procedure. I called them and they said since I'm not a patient yet they can only tell me after I've come in and had a consultation (so I have to spend time and money to find out how much money I have to spend). They said another way of finding out was calling my insurance provider and asking them for the negotiated rate. So I called my insurance provider and they inform me it's illegal in Texas for them to disclose their contracted rate to me. The best I can do is call Urology Austin back and ask for their tax ID and the CPT code and then call the insurance provider again. Dinosaur businesses like this need to go out of business. Deductibles and co-insurance are prominent parts of paying for non-emergency medical care and these anti-consumer practices that keep people from shopping around need to stop. Don't support a business like this, and if you know a business that does it better, spread the word.
