Yvette Gutierrez-Schieffer's Online Review Report Card

Probably the worst OBGYN i've ever interacted with. During the 45min I had the rod inside of me, they didn't say a word to me about what was going on. They took me back to the exam room where I waited another 45min without a word. She told me they found 32 cysts total on my ovaries. I asked how this happened and she said that she didn't know, sometimes birth control. I asked how we treat this and she said birth control. I said "Birth control probably caused this, and I'm supposed to use birth control to treat it?" She said that was the only treatment option. I told her I didn't want to be on birth control and she essentially shamed me about being unsafe with sex. This was a traumatizing experience for me. Ill never forget my anxiety swelling up while they examined me and being repeatedly ignored when I asked what was wrong. Then, having BC pushed onto me over and over (especially after being told that my new dx of PCOS could be from birth control itself) was really unprofessional.

From checking in downstairs to entering the doctor’s office, I felt every precaution was made to ensure everyone’s safety and well being.Dr. Schieffer definitely takes the time to listen and answer any questions that I have. She is very thorough in the examination and personable.

I’ve had annual exam and told the doctor about my fertility problems. She said she’ll do referral to Fertility Institute for specific procedure. Several days later, referral was not sent, and I missed that month. Doctor’s nurse called me and asked to try next month, cause they will have sent referral by then. So next month I’m calling to FI make an appointment, and they still do not have referral and will not accept me. It seems that my referral was forgotten to be sent again, while my card was charged extra for that appointment. It is also impossible to reach her nurse line, voice message is only option. I will never return to this doctor

Dr. Schieffer is literally the best. I've been seeing her since 2013 and come June she will have delivered all 3 of my girls.Her and her staff and friendly and make you feel well informed during your pregnancy and after.I've heard horror stories from friends who's doctors didnt listen to them or inform them enough, and this is something you will not find here!I 100% recommend Dr. Schieffer!

I appreciate how much time Dr. Schieffer and her nurse took to listen to me and my concerns and then talked WITH instead of at me. Both were extremely empathetic during a very uncomfortable procedure and offered good advice that helped to relax me.

My first baby was with a midwife. After getting the best prenatal care experience it was hard to leave the midwives. Doctor Schieffer was nice, kind, positive energy, and nurturing. She was reassuring, and listened to my concerns and didn’t give me the feel of needing to rush for the next patient. I’m so happy I found her!She’s made me look forward to this journey after sadly finding out I am not healthy enough to do a home birth again. She has just what I need to feel okay with this transition and I look forward to my future appointments without fear of missing out on a more nurturing experience. ❤️

Dr. Gutierrez-Schieffer is the best! She has been my doctor for over 18 years. Nurses and staff are wonderful too!

Dr. Gutierrez-Schieffer is very knowledgeable and took my concerns to heart. She was also very willing to navigate a hard choice around surgery with me and I felt respected and supported.

Very friendly, and can tell she is an experienced and knowledgeable doctor! Doctor appointments make me uncomfortable but I felt very at ease.
