Baytown Dermatology received 34.7% positive feedback, with patients praising the kindness and thoroughness of Dr. Chan and his helpful staff. However, 65.3% of the feedback was negative, primarily citing long wait times, rude front desk staff, and billing issues. List of Baytown Dermatology's Reviews
Dr Chan is kind, attentive, and thorough. You don’t have to wait for long before he sees you and truly cares about you. Baytown is fortunate to have him.
It’s hard to believe all the 1 star reviews here. My wife and I have both had very good experiences with both the staff and Dr. Chan.
After my visit, I'm still trying to figure out the point of this place. They told me up front their tests take longer than other places to get results and when you do get the results, they just refer you to another facility. You have to book the appointment with the other facility yourself. Pretty pointless for my issues.
Absolute horrible place of business! They don’t do their job then blame it on you ! They don’t want to take patients try to make excuses to not see you after you have already arrived for the apt. The front staff is so rude as well.
Do not go here if you have two forms of insurance and one of them is Medicaid. I understood they didn’t take the Medicaid however they should have taken my primary insurance and because I had both they instantly turned me away. I was fine with paying for the visit out of pocket but never got a chance to inform the woman at the front desk about it due to her telling me right away that they couldn’t help me.
Dr. Chan was so dismissive to my 5 year old. We went to him after battling what we thought was a recurrence of a severe case of impetigo for nearly a year. We needed more answers than our PCP could give us, and all Dr. Chan kept saying was that my son had “bug bites” except they were bleeding sores and did not look like bug bites and I have three kids but he was the only one with this skin issue. His only advice was for us to do a bleach bath and to make sure we put “deet bug spray on” I was mostly upset when we went for a follow up and his nurse greeted my son by saying “hi there, how are your bug bites today?” I did not go to another follow up, but sought out a different dermatologist for my son, she was concerned of auto immune, did some blood work, never once called them bug bites. His blood work did come back in normal ranges, but I already had high hopes because at least she was trying, and not just brushing this clear skin issue off as “just bug bites” Now she gave him one dose of dupixent for a rare form of eczema, and three weeks after that first dose we are FINALLY seeing my sons skin clearing up !!! I’m disappointed Dr. Chan did not listen to us, but I’m grateful we found someone who did. I would not recommend anybody go to any physician who brushes off your concerns, especially when it’s concerns of your child.
This office is a complete rip off. They way overcharge.
When I called to make the appointment the front desk receptionist was so nice , got my husband right in within a couple of days. Today the staff were so nice and pleasant! Dr Chan was very nice, friendly ! I made an appointment for myself!
Do not send your elderly loved one to this office if they are in a nursing home and Medicaid. They do not understand that doctors office visits are covered by Medicare first, then the Medicare supplement and that Medicaid is a payor of last resort. Between my mother’s Medicare and Supplement she is covered 100% but they still turned her away after having to schedule transportation to and from.
A good Doctor (Chan) in an extremely inefficient office.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
