This place provides minimal services. I get to see my psychiatrist for 10 minutes 3X a year & my caseworker twice a month. There are no counselors or therapists. A.C. is way understaffed and underfunded. If you are having a mental health crisis, you *might* get more help.

This facility is limited to only providing the services your insurance (private insurance, work insurance, Medicaid, Medicare) will cover...unless you're able to cover the difference. There is *some* financial aid available (discounts, sliding scale, etc) but only to those willing to complete the forms to verify your income, bills, etc.This is *NOT* a free clinic. It is *NOT* run on our tax money. You are *NOT* entitled to free medical care just by walking in the door. I'm not sure how they got that reputation.That being said, while the place is *extremely* overwhelmed by people seeking help, this place CAN and WILL help you to the BEST of their ability. You must be patient, and you must be willing to cooperate with them in completing the paperwork. Believe me, they don't like the paperwork any more than you do, but unless you're made of money, this is how it goes.Don't blame these folks for the way things are; they're not the ones who've under-funded Social Security for decades, who've allowed able-bodied people to rob the system, nor who've made shady deals with "Big Pharma" creating $1000-a-bottle medicines. These folks are doing their best IN SPITE of everything going against them. Tell them THANK YOU when you see them. :-)
