I contacted this office as a potential new patient to verify whether my insurance would cover services before scheduling. The office provided CPT codes, which I appreciated, but when I contacted my insurance company, they explained that coverage for registered dietitian services depends heavily on the diagnostic code submitted and whether prior authorization may be required. My insurance representative specifically asked if the office could provide general diagnostic code information or simply contact the insurance company directly to clarify the type of codes typically billed so they could determine coverage and exclusions. Instead of assisting, the office refused and stated they would not provide any information or contact the insurance company at all. As someone trying to avoid unexpected medical bills, I found this extremely disappointing. Most medical offices are willing to help prospective patients navigate insurance questions, especially when the insurance carrier is actively requesting cooperation from the provider’s office. This was not about asking for confidential medical information or demanding special treatment. It was simply an attempt to understand financial responsibility before becoming a patient. The lack of willingness to assist with something this basic raises concerns for me about how responsive and supportive the office would be once someone is actually under their care. Just sharing my experience so others can make informed decisions.

Dr.Sharlene and the rest of the staff are absolutely amazing. My only complaint is that they don’t do a general practice. A staff and physician like them would make anyone feel comfortable about going to the doctor.

Dr. Sharlene is the best! She doesn’t treat you like a number but takes the time and actually listens to your concerns. I am over 50 and currently in menopause and I have lost over 25 lbs since I have started going to Dr. Sharlene!
