Did not help me to get answers for my severe and chronic dysmenorrhea, which was the whole reason I went to see her. Dismissive and invaliding. Really seemed to think I was stupid for feeling apprehensive about remaining on hormonal birth control and told me there was no biological reason to have a menstrual cycle. Completely ignores the multiple, lasting side effects that birth control creates that women are right to be cautious of. Gave me a “soft diagnosis for PID” without bothering to run blood work or swab. Happy to throw antibiotics at me, though! I am now on my third OBGYN in one year trying to get help for my endometriosis. I requested my after-visit summaries from my visitors with Dr. Chao and they were so laughably minimal. Two stars for validating my desire to get sterilized and understanding that women are often denied autonomy over this decision.

Dr.Chao cared for me through my pregnancy just recently . Let me just start by saying she is THE BEST . During and even after my pregnancy she gave THE BEST CARE . she’s very down to earth and honest and she very more person to person if you know what I’m saying . She’s helped me through my crisis . And she lets me know all the time that I am not alone . I get super emotional in her office all the time I just feel like she understand and hears me out in a very professional manner . She has never told me nothing wrong . She gives me her best judgment and then leaves it to me to decide but Highly encourages me that SELF CARE COMES FIRST ‼️ I truly am grateful for you Dr.Chao. ( Yes I still see her to this very day🙂 if I could give you a billion stars I would ! )

She didn't even attempt to answer some of my questions that were very concerning during my pregnancy. Made me cry about my weight gain which I have completely lost now. After my 6 week postpartum appointment, she said to call back and they'd call in a prescription for birth control or postpartum depression. After several calls, I never heard back from her but I was diagnosed with PPD by another Dr.
