One star for the convience of the location being in the Woodlands. Parking wasn't bad. The women at the lobby were nice and friendly. I was called to get my iv set up quickly, but I waited around 40 minutes over when my scan was supposed to start. I pressed the nurses call button 2xs and No one came to check on me. I had to leave my room and go to the nurses station to see what was going on. I finally got into the mri machine and requested they play Chris Stapleton. The tech had the volume so low I couldn't hear it and had to ask multiple times for her to turn it up. Oh better yet, they were supposed to scan my brain and spine, but only had me scheduled for brain so now I have to drive to Houston to get my brain scanned this Saturday. I had taken all of today off to get both done.
This is a wonderful place! I've been coming here for many years since it opened. Everyone I have encountered here has always been kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Thank you, M.D. ANDERSON, for this wonderful clinic.
To be honest. I'm not impressed! My wife is a Breast Cancer patient there. General/Plastic surgery was okay, but Oncology I'm not impressed with at all. My wife, IMO, is merely a number to Oncology.
The atmosphere at this place is great. The staff have been exceptionally nice and make you feel comfortable considering what we have to go through. The rooms where I get my treatments are big enough for me and my wife to sit comfortably. Reason why only 4 stars was because when connecting to guest WiFi, you do not have internet. This has been happening since May. I have brought up my concerns and other patients were saying the same thing. I usually have to be up there for 3 hours and no internet limits what I can do to pass my time. I couldn’t even login to Mychart because it said I needed to be connected to internet
I had a horrible run in with the security guard on the first floor in the morning. She is an african American lady in a short wig and clump lashes. First off she's always on her phone. But the real kicker is her attitude. She is incredibly disrespectful and downright mean. I had to visit the hospital and was told over the phone I was allowed one guest. Upon entering the door with the nurse she started yelling at us to stop and calling the nurse. She then yelled at the nurse and said that no one was allowed in with me. This made no sense as the nurse said I could bring a guest and it was confirmed over the phone. When I tried to ask her why she refused to address me and told the nurse to not do that again and turned her head and sneered. She ignored me and when I left she seemed really proud of herself and smirked. I do not know why she is so mean but her behavior is inexcusable. She is unprofessional and petty. The nurse told me that she had no issue with the guest entering and that they typically allow a guest to enter as theu even have a seat. This was simply an act of discrimination and I was deeply hurt and angered.
The African American lady working the security desk by Mri II at 10:20am on July 11th was the rudest person I have ever met. Everyone at MD anderson is very kind but the security lady was rude, condescending, and incredibly demeaning. She should not be working in a cancer hospital. I am the patient's caregiver and wanted to enter and was told by the nurse that I would be able to. The security lady rudely called to the nurse in a sing songy tone and made us all exit the mri ii bay and told the nurse that I cannot enter. She did not speak to me but looked at me up and down and LAUGHED can you believe this vile behavior. She then watched me walk away and snickered with a smirk and tossed her wig. I needed to enter to help the patient who was less than a week out from a major cancer surgery and had to deal with this unprofessional heathen at 10 in the morning. I hope she is removed from her post and someone caring is put in her stead.
They ignore you when you mention the side effects from chemo you are having. They also ignore when your labs are awful, dont check enough how my thyroid is doing. I came in with 100% trust and confidence and as my body gets the chemo damage and they dont do what they are supposed to do, I began losing my trust. So I must step in and protect myself because they won't. They like you if you serve for the trials as a lab rat and a profitable number. The nurse that works with my dr is also a bit arrogant and tries to blame me. I've been recording all calls.
I was referred to MDAnderson by my ENT, the staff are very thorough, and friendly, great people with compassion, through what most people feel as a death sentence, they really bring you up out of your depth!
Top tier care, it is more comfortable than downtown . The staff know you by name when you become a regular, very professional , wonderful brilliant people.Very comfortable atmosphere as well.
MD Anderson, i call it the Chik Fil A of hospitals. Everything from the moment i walk in is focused on my needs. The staff at any MD Anderson facility is top of their respective fields. I have been a patient at MDA since 2012. i recently did 35 radiation treatments at the Woodlands as i reside in Spring just 10 miles from there. What an amazing group of people. "Always" smiling and on time with my treatments. The way the Woodlands works in unison with the Med center facility is amazing. I have lab/blood work done every 3 months and the results are usually in my chart/phone before i get out of the parking lot. Here is my summary in a nut shell. Why on earth would you trust anyone else with your life. MDA is second to none. They actually made my cancer history! Amen

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
