List of Stephen B Tucker's Reviews
Went to Dr. Tucker after being misdiagnosed by a G.P. for terrible rash. Dr. Tucker immediately told me I didn't have what the first Dr. told me I had and began testing me for the reason for my itchy rash. He did patch tests and found only 5 things I was allergic to and we then narrowed the problem down to 1 thing, formaldehyde gas from household things. I suffered for 5 months with the itching and rash but after learning what was causing it, the rash cleared up and I am fine. I believe Dr. Tucker is the best Dermatologist I could have found and so glad I did.
I am writing to let others know that Dr. Stephen Tucker, Dermatologist, failed to tell my wife of lab results showing possible melanoma. First visit in Aug. 2019, when original lab work done, after a sample taken by Tucker. He said nothing wrong then. 14 months later (Dec. 2020) in a normal follow up visit he took another sample from the same mole on the forehead and then said she had melanoma. So we assumed the mole had just changed. Next visit was to MD Anderson (2 weeks later) following Tuckers recommendation of Dr. Ross and his first question was why did you wait over a year to address the problem. After seeing the lab results sent to Ross from Tucker for both the 2019 and 2020 visit the 2019 lab clearly stated it was questionable and further samples needed to be taken. 14 months is a little long for that type of follow up in my opinion. No one should go through the surgeries, 4 total and extensive plastic surgery, and it may not have been needed if an immediate follow up was done.
Dr. Tucker is an excellent dermatologist and I highly recommend him. I have seen him for over 20 years. I am surprised to see the two negative reviews here and I would like to address. 1) Cash price - The insurance companies play games and waste staff time by trying to reject legitimate claims. Doctors don't work for free and Dr. Tucker is not interested in games but treating patients. I prefer to pay cash as well so I don't have to hassle with insurance companies as well. 2) Outdated information. This couldn't be further from the truth. Dr. Tucker taught dermatology students for years in the Houston Med center and I have found his information and advice excellent. 3) Religion - Three or four years ago I learned he was a Christian after asking him about a picture on the hallway wall at his office. I had seen him dozens and dozens of times before that with no mention of religion. He has always been a kind, caring, and winsome individual. Did not get to experience a visit with the doctor, so this review is more of a red flag for new patients, first I would suggest to hire better staff . Called to see about an appointment as a new patient, and from the beginning all I had was a negative and aggressive attitude and even got the phone hung up on me. Great service indeed .
With no insurance at the time. Dr Tucker and staff were Excellent and cash price was beyond fair! Many Thanks!! Jdd spring tx
I inherited Dr. Tucker as a teenager over a decade ago- he saw my parents and siblings. I didn’t realize until I returned as an adult how terrible this office is. I’m sure he cares about his patients and has good intentions, but Dr. Tucker is extremely behind the times in every possible way. He seems unaware of the latest dermatological practices, he doesn’t take insurance (you have to file the claim yourself), and he has extremely outdated personal views that he insists on sharing in very unprofessional ways. Some examples- Dr. Tucker lectured me on the “god-given differences” between men and women and appropriate gender roles, didn’t believe me when I described my habits, gave me laughably sexist medical literature from the 1970s, and responded to news that I was moving overseas for work (in the context of transferring prescriptions) by immediately asking if I “could marry a Korean man.” If you like your doctors to come with decades-obsolete medical knowledge, religious fanaticism, xenophobia, and misogyny, this office may be for you. If you’re like me and prefer professionalism, respect, and effective results, I’d look elsewhere. I inherited Dr. Tucker as a teenager over a decade ago- he saw my parents and siblings. I have been going to Dr Tucker at least 16yrs, My Husband and extended family much longer. He is a wonderful, kind, intelligent, thoughtful Dr. I am fair skinned, so every mole, skin problem that occurs He takes care of... I am grateful for Dr. Tucker
Saw dr Tucker most of my teenage years for acne and i highly recommend him. He is very professional and fixed my skin problems that have not returned in 15 years.
Doc is smart and caring. Cured me of what looked like a spider bite that had gotten like a skin eating thing. I was a mess! He was smart enough to prescribe the old tried and true penicillin and domeboro to apply to sores
Dr Tucker, is the best Dermaloigist in the Woodlands!! I have lived in the area for 24 years, and have been seeing him for 16 years... My Husband has known him much longer... All of our family trust him, children and extended.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
