John Masciale's Online Review Report Card

In 2020 I saw Dr Masciale for the first time,at that time all he suggested was for me to see a better neurologist. But he gave me a good impression.3/28/2023 I made another appointment to see him,mainly because I was seeing a pain management doctor. My pain was so unbearable. I could barely walk. His PA(Jessie) saw me and after I told her that I had already had a mri she went out of the room. A few minutes later not only did Jessie return but so did Dr Masciale. He saw more than what the mri report stated. And told me that the person who translated it would be changing it. What I needed was a discectomy and laminectomy. The appointment for that to be done was 4/24/23. I was in the hospital for 3 days. And when I tell you that everything changed in my life. I can do so much more now than before. I had a different back surgery in 2011. But I woke crying in so much pain. This surgery by Dr Masciale was handled so much better. I am almost pain free now and of so many narcotics.Thank You

Had 2 appointments to see Dr. Waited over 3 hours both times & only saw the NP. Dr wanted me to do a Spinalal Cord Stimulator trial which I did not want to do. I wanted to talk about other options but the NP basically told me the Doctor said to go do the trial period. Again, never saw the actual Doctor, never was told why he felt it would be a better option for me or anything. I left feeling like my pain & issues were of no concern to him. My MRI shows 2 bulging disk at L4-5 & L5-SI with small tears on both disk as well as spinal canal stenosis at L4-5. I have pain, muscle weakness & tingling & numbness on both sides from mid back to feet. Had injections done with little to no relief. I was given no other options other than the stimulator.

Screwed up back surgery on me twice and lied about why I was having pain. Did not listen, and was wrong. I'm permanently disabled.

This doctor has no consideration for his patients or their families. Starting, my grandma received a procedure from Masciale that put her in worse condition than she started. She is wheelchair bound now where as before she was completely mobile but in pain Secondly, when going to an appointment you have to consistently wait 3+ hours after your appointment time to be seen. Trust me, go elsewhere and find a competent doctor *** Update. 4 hours and nothing I'm happy I left work in San Antonio early to rush to Corpus to be with my grandmother *** Update. 4 1/2 hours and nothing

I have been very satisfied with the staff as well as Dr. Masciale. Dr. Masciale found something that was very important and missing from my MRI report. Otherwise I probably wouldn’t be having surgery, but instead I would be getting injections to my spine. This will be my second surgery. My first one was in 2011 and done in Waco Tx. I am scared but I am putting my trust in Dr. Masciale and my faith in God. This probably won’t be my last surgery,my back is pretty messed up from an accident.Also his new location is really nice.

Great surgeon cannot say enough about him. Very late for appointments but worth the wait.

Absolutely ridiculous wait times

This guy has zero respect for his patient’s time. There are patients waiting three hours to see him. I won’t be one of them. Gave up after an hour and was told each appointment will take up to FOUR hours! Give me a break!

I have a lot of respect for Dr michelli Dr Michelle is very educated and dedicated in his field. He is a perfectionist when it comes to his surgeries. He cares for his patients and see to it that they get the medical evidence they need in order to follow the process in care for them. He will see you even if you have to pay for the visit yourself due to lack of insurance. The office employees are very polite patient and helpful. The atmosphere as well is very peaceful for those that are stressing such as myself.

Dr Masciale is so very compassionate and understanding. His staff as well. They make me feel like they know me as a friend, not just a patient number. They really listen to me and allow me time to share issues or problems, even good life stories. Great place to go.
