I felt that the meeting was hurried and superficial.
I felt that the meeting with the doctor was hurried and superficial.
New onset of double vision and left arm weakness was ignored and he told to come back in 2 months.A neurological assessment was not completed .He cancelled my 2 months appointment and moved it to 45 days longer.HE DIDNT CARE ABOUT ME AT ALL. So I went to another neurologist. Now they are charging me for a missed visit.
dr. mendazibal has been my neurologist since february. in that time he has yet to contact my insurance and the pharmacy regarding my ajovy injection that i need for my migraines. on my first appointment, he gave me a sample injection and told me the next one will arrive in the mail and it never did. i tried contacting him multiple times and never got a call or response back. on my second appointment i told him i never got anything in the mail nor did he try to contact my pharmacy or insurance again. both of my appointments were less than 5 minutes long with him. i tried calling to see if i could switch doctors and they said it’s not allowed in their practice. i think when someone’s not getting the help they need from one dr, another one should step in.
I would NOT recommend this doctor or his office personnel to anyone.
Dr. Mendizabal is simply the best doctor I've had -- caring, sensitive, attentive , and knowledgeable. I am confident my health is his priority, and there are no words I can adequately say to thank him for everything he's done for me.
Was cared for very well by Dr. and pleased with his professionalism.
I'm not even sure how to rate this. I was very happy with my first visit with Dr Mendizabal. However, since then, it has been impossible to get responses from the nurse regarding my FMLA, treatment, or medications. I am debating finding another doctor as soon as possible simply because of the staff.
He tested me for seizures (all I had was extremely low sodium...but he kept giving me medication I was allergic to for seizures). I ended up in the hospital for a week due to his lack of correct diagnosis. Then he tested me for carpal tunnel (which I’ve had since 2002 and had doctors tell me I needed surgery...and sadly put off until it got extreme), and after prodding me in a most unusual manner (I’ve had this test MANY times, and it was never like this!), he said I had NO carpal tunnel, and there was nothing wrong with me. I had spinal surgery for NOTHING because of that, and it cost money, plus still hurts to this day. One year later I had another test for carpal tunnel by another neurologist, and it was so severe he said I had no choice but to have surgery on both hands, and that I’d obviously had it for many years. I just had the surgery. Best thing I’ve done was see a different neurologist who cares and actually listens and assists.
I do not know about the doctor himself because I had to leave the room before I went off on the nurse. From the first call to schedule the appointment to the check in to the first encounter with his nurse it went from bad to worse. The staff at the office were so rude and insensitive. The ladies at the front desk were loud and rude. You could hear them griping after every call about what they were asked for. Just a friendly reminder to them that people are here because they are in pain and already frustrated! How about a little compassion?

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
