If she previously was scheduled for brain surgery after being arrested for being over 2 times the legal limit, knowing that without the arrest the surgery would have proceeded makes me so nervous and causes me to wonder about the history of all providers now.

Dr. Macias is an amazing surgeon, she helped me tremendously and am so grateful for her. She is such a talented surgeon. I'm sad she decided to retire. Best wishes to you.

I would not use this Dr if she was the last Dr on the planet. She has done many surgeries on me and then left me high and dry in December of 2023. Now I half to wear a catheter for the rest of my life because of mistakes that she has made. It took me forever to find a new Surgeon because they were afraid to touch me because of her mistakes. Then I find out that she left Wisconsin because of 4 DUI’s. So she then run to Texas and the Texas Board put her on a 15yr probation because of her problems. Well on October 13,2023 they let her off of probation and now she left her practice and the State.

She shouldn't be able to treat patients. Stay away from this doctor, at all costs. If your life depends on it, like mine was, and you have no other option, expect extremely long wait times, poor treatment, wrong medication prescriptions, and incorrect diagnoses. Do not Dr. Macias operate on you. Google search her background, find other options, and please for the love of God, get a second opinion.

Dr. Melissa Macias is absolutely my life saver. She was my late brother's surgeon, he loved her, and spoke highly of her. By coincidence, I finally met her when she was visiting my brother in the hospital. I told her I had suffered a back injury and had seen several surgeons. None, of the surgeons were informative. I told Dr. Macias I was constantly in pain and sleep deprived due to my back pain I experienced 24/7. She asked to call her office and make an appointment with her. The following week Dr. Macias saw me and told me she could perform my surgery. She did an awesome job!! Since my surgery my back pain is gone. I've regained my mobility, I can do anything and everything I used to do before my back injury. Thank you Dr. Macias you gave me my life back. I highly have recommended you to my friends and family. (5 GOLD STARS FOR DR. MACIAS!!) Carol Casas

Outstanding Care When things go wrong with your health it can be a scary time. Dr. Macias gets it. She was so helpful and explained everything so well. She took the time to answer our questions. When she did the surgery and it helped so much with the pain and debilitating situation. I am walking again and am grateful to her! Thank you Dr. Macias.

I was her worst case ever, but she helped me walk Was told by a hospital visit that my Vertebrae, mid and lower, was very bad, breaking onto itself till I made appointment with Dr. Macias day after labor day 5th. She set me up for surgery on 19th. I checked into hospital on 17th due to more pain. She ordered new MRI and explained to us that my back had become dangerously worse. She performed surgeries, 2 were required, but I was walking with walker in the hallways of hospital, whistling. Cause I told Dr. Macias how much I appreciated that I would be able to walk again. She did mention, my back was her worst case in her career. Made me happy knowing that I am still living life to its fullest and that a Dr really cared enough to go the extra miles, including all of her and Christus Spohn Shoreline Hopital staff. I know I was a pain to them, but they fixed my back. THE Best thing was when she told me she prayed for me before the surgery. I too now include Dr. Macias and all her help in my prayers. God Bless.

What a great Dr. She did my back surgery on Monday, went home Tuesday and only took very few pain pills. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER FOR ANY SURGERY.
