List of Ashley E. Ross's Reviews
Everything about this doctor appears excellent on the first visit. Pays attention to history, ask the right questions, explains alternate treatments and side effects. Gives recommendation, communicates well and shows compassion.
Life saving. The best in the business. World renowned. Cares very deeply. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be here today. My surgery was as tough as it gets. Kept me on the table for 5 hours until he got everything out. I believe most docs would have closed me up and walked away. He has no quit in him. The most outstanding doc and one of the finest peopIe I’ve ever known.
Dr. Ross is exceedingly knowledgeable, thorough, communicative, and kind. He is always available to respond to queries and concerns, and he does so with genuine care. My results have been exceptionally positive, with all credit due to Dr. Ross and his team. I highly recommend Dr. Ross; his combination of research scientist and skilled surgeon is surely unique.
He saved my life. The fast growing cancer had spread to 60% of my prostate. He made room in his schedule for me and performed the operation the day after Christmas when most would have been home with their families! He took steps to minimize the chance of further spread to other organs.
Very inpressed, friendly and made us feel comfortable.
Dr. Ross operated on my husband who had aggressive prostate cancer. He is a brilliant surgeon and equally compasionate man. We are so grateful he is our Dr, and are so lucky to have him here in Dallas. We would and do highly recommend him without any doubt at all.
Dr Ross is a one of a kind brilliant Dr. and surgeon. He operated on my husband who had an agressive prostate cancer. You don't often find this level of skill along with compasson. He takes the time to make sure you understand all issues. We are so grateful to have him as a Dr. and here in Dallas. We would and do highly recommend him.
Dr Ross performed my prostate surgery in 2015 at John's Hopkins. He is the best. He checked on me on Thanksgiving day while I was in the hospital recovering from surgery. I would 100% recommend him. I keep hoping he will move back to Baltimore. If your in the Dallas area I would definitely use him as your urologist. Thanks Dr. Ross for a job well done.
Dr. Ross has a chronic problem with not following through and guessing the wrong course of action, multiple times. He does not communicate well and constantly reminds urology patients that he deals mostly with prostate cancer (for the money I assume). He also unprofessionally speaks about other patients insurance and how they don't pay well or wont cover this or that. I advise finding someone else, overall the doctor is odd and short sighted.
He’s the former Director of Johns Hopkins Prostate Cancer Program at Johns Hopkins hospital and, additionally, Professor of Urology and Oncology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD… published 90 articles that I know of about prostate cancer and seems pretty caught up. He’s been here two years. Texas Oncology group here, who stole him away from his research and Johns Hopkins, is the largest oncology group in the country (680 docs), has a lot of clout and has challenged and changed many antiquated protocols for treatment and insurance. It runs one of the 15 or so proton treatment centers in the USA and is not bound by the red tape and provinciality of academic footprints.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
