I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a deeply distressing and unacceptable experience I had during a recent visit to your hospital’s emergency department. I was in severe pain and distress and sought immediate medical assistance. However, the physician on duty failed to provide even the most basic standard of care. The doctor in question refused to take my symptoms and pain seriously and denied me necessary medical evaluation and treatment. This refusal was not only unprofessional and unethical but may constitute a violation of federal law under EMTALA (Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act), which mandates that all patients who come to an emergency department must be provided with a medical screening exam and stabilizing treatment, regardless of their background, insurance status, or perceived condition. In addition, I believe I was subjected to discriminatory treatment, as the manner in which I was ignored and dismissed was not only medically negligent but also demeaning. I was treated as if I did not deserve to be helped—something no patient should ever experience, especially in an emergency setting. I also want to inform you that I have video evidence of this incident, clearly documenting the doctor’s refusal to provide care and his dismissive behavior. If this matter is not formally investigated and the physician is not held accountable, I will be forced to pursue legal action. This includes filing complaints with the Office of Civil Rights, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and seeking legal counsel to address both the discrimination and EMTALA violations. I am demanding: • An immediate internal investigation into this incident • A formal written response with the outcome of that investigation • Assurance that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken This matter is urgent, and I expect a response within 10 business days. Sincerely, Date of Incident: 7/18/25 Physician’s Name: Dryden
Had an incredible experience with Baylor Uptown ER. Nurse Carolyn McQuire went above and beyond taking care of me and eventually transferring me to Big Baylor. She was right on time everytime I needed assistance. Thank you Carolyn.
So I came to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Uptown emergency room. I filled out my paperwork and am waiting to be seen. A woman (of another race) comes in after me. This nurse calls the woman back before me. I ask the receptionist if I could speak to the nurse to find out why he calls her back before me. This man comes out and says that it’s his decision to make as to who he treats first. After a brief back and forth, he then blurts out and says “a patient that came for “x” is more important than a patient that came for “y”. IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE EMERGENCY ROOM. After he ANNOUNCES my reasoning for coming to the emergent room, he shuts the door. Than he comes back and starts talking off behind the glass. He better be glad he was behind that glass. Needless to say, he had to call the police in order to get me up out of there! His name is MURAD! I will be contacting Baylor in the morning! PLEASE SHARE AND DO NOT GO TO THIS ER!
Great service! Everyone was super nice. Out of all the amazing people I met there, Imelda (Mel) in the cafeteria really stood out! The type of person that makes your day, even when you're feeling sick... Thanks Mel.
all these people care about is money. NEVER have I seen a doctors office make you go through a 3RD party to get a doctors note and have to pay $40! THEN I requested medical records from them for over a week (still processing) though they say it's only 24-48hrs to process! but magically when they send ANOTHER invoice they could send my medical records "expeditiously".. literally a financial burden delaying my records!!! this health care system is a JOKE and I hope the whole system collapse
This is the second time I've come here for back surgery. Everyone was extremely professional and helpful; from the pre op ( a few days before) to post op ( 2 day stay) and all the testing, etc. in between.
No, I wouldn't recommend... my relative was admitted and her phone was stolen .. and how they treated her was horrible... they gave her fentanyl for no apparent reason.
I have come here a three times in 8 years. The first time was great. Second time, I was made fun of for my cut, which I thought needed stitches. The nurse joked “should we call the trauma center”. The third time was today. I was throwing up a lot and had a migraine and could barely walk. I had trouble answering the nurses questions because I was so sick. When he (Eric) asked me about my symptoms he was really rude. He asked how I could know what a migraine was like. And when I said, I don’t know I just feel terrible he said “don’t get smart with me.”Even my friend told him to show empathy, and she is very sweet. He never came back to my room and the dr said, he won’t be coming back. I’m just curious why are you a nurse if you hate people. I’m giving three stars because the famale nurse Carolyn was nice and the Dr was fine.
The staff here in the Emergency Room was some of the very best I have ever seen! Nurse Shanna was very responsive and compassionate and took her time with our situation. She is a super star! Dr. Lemo ABSOLUTELY takes the biggest blue ribbon award ever! He is one of a kind! Dr. Lemo was not only knowledgeable beyond measure but he also actually took the time to listen and respond to our concerns with patience and immense kindness. What a rare find these days. Thank you!! Our medical team was top notch this visit, 5 STAR !! Baylor Uptown is very fortunate to have these team members and should hold tight with these remarkable professionals!. Thank you, again.🧡
stay away from baylor. they don’t care about you. i was admitted to the hospital and they discharged me while i was still actively in pain, dizzy and hardly able to walk without falling over. i still have baylor a chance and used one of their family physicians a couple months later. the physician lost one of the results, forgot to put in one of the recommendations to the specialist, incorrectly billed my insurance forcing me to have to rectify their error, prescribed me a pain medicine before getting my bloodwork that didn’t work and dodged my questions about it in the portal with her office team citing she’d only meet to discuss the results if i booked another appointment. when i asked if she could afford me just 5 minutes they told me no, she’d be too busy. even tho she was reading my messages on the portal about how much pain i was in. the only thing she cared about was that i book with her again so she could charge my insurance.run away. you deserve a provider who takes 5 minutes to explain your results and listen when their solutions don’t work.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
