I have a lot of memories at this hospital over the past 23 years with myself and family members. The last 3 years I have seen a great decline in the nursing staff and lack of communication with the residence and the doctors. I have had several day and overnight surgeries over the years not at this hospital. It was an elective surgery. The experience was just horrible. I want to cry thinking about since it was less than 48 hours ago. I woke up in the worst pain and they had so much trouble getting it under control. That is one thing they should know how to do in post op. I have had other more painful surgeries and it is possible. The lady bedside my had the same nurse I did. Our nurse had 2 patients. She was begging for help as well. I had to get a passing nurse to step in and she did for a few minutes and had to leave. I had a late surgery due to doctor delays. I was starving and had a caffeine headache. This was an overnight stay surgery.I couldn’t get an ice tea and of course wouldn’t you know it the kitchen closed 30 min (7:30 pmj before I got to my room Pickens 4 th floor. No coordination of a meal. Mind you I was paying out of pocket for my stay. I know we had a shift change but I still think it could have been communicated. Waited 2 1/2 hrs begging for ice tea. Finally the charge nurse brought be a cup of hot water and a tea bag for me to make. I got an old cold sandwhich that I didn’t and a bag of chips. I scarfed down the chips and asked for another bag. Before asking my friend tried to get me another bag out of the vending machine and it took her money with no bag of chips in return. The nurse at the station said she wasn’t sure but would see if she can find me some. Weird. They are grossly understaffed and this isn’t due to COVID. It has been like this for several years. You have nurses doing tech jobs. This was always the “Go To “ hospital” ….. I hopefully will not have to go back. Dallas Presbyterian will now be my hospital of choice.
Expect to be here all day. Assembly line processing. Your status is posted on a board using a number and that's exactly how you're treated.
I simply LOVE this place for my GI procedures! I won’t go anywhere else. I’ve had health issues for years and am not very tolerant of poorly run facilities. Baylor Surgicare Dalllas is exceptional - from scheduling, front desk, and registration to all the pre and post op nurses, physicians, and support staff. All were kind, professional, and adept at their jobs. They talked to me, acknowledged my concerns, kept the mood light, and one precious angel even held my hand as I was going under anesthesia. You guys are wonderful and deserve a lot of praise for doing such a great job. I am very grateful to you all.
I was treated like gold. Everyone was friendly an d professional.
Very kind nurses and nice facility. Great experience with surgery.
I had surgery here a month ago with Dr. Pin and loved everything about this place. I wish I remembered everyone’s names but the nurses and staff were so nice. They made me feel comfortable and I wasn’t nervous at all. If I ever need any other surgery I will go back here for sure! Thank you!
The staff is was very professional and caring. Every single one them. I has having a difficult time preparing for my surgery, especially mentally. The nurses all recognized it all on there own and went to comfort me. I was wish I could have this team everyone I needed a procedure. I’ve never felt as cared for as I did yesterday. The first time I said why I woke up was I loved all my nursers. I couldn’t have made it without them.
They never gave me a quote till two days before the surgery asking for $3900 even though we had met deductible. On the day of surgery registration, they then asked me to pay front $3200. It told them they should file insurance first before they bill me because that number is unlikely accurate, that is lots of money that I cannot promise before my insurance verifies. They would not proceed the surgery till I paid a quarter of it which was $650. Two weeks later, they sent me a bill of $3200 as if I never paid the $650. I called my insurance and they verified that the EOB was already sent to them with my responsibility should be around $1900. It is a shame that prestigious institute like Baylor has become money machine robbing patients aggressively. The medical staff and nursing service is good that I cannot complain of.
The doctors and nurses are good. This center did not file our insurance in a timely manner which has caused problems. They would not proceed with the surgery till I paid over $3000.Any physician should think twice about having their patients receive care because this Baylor behavior is a reflection on the physicians.
TERRIBLE pre-op information. I have a surgical procedure tomorrw 7/25. It is the day before at 6 pm and no one has call me about what t8me I need to be there tomorrow !!???
They were the best. I never had surgery before and they made the process very smooth. Thanks a bunch.
very beautiful and pleasant professional atmosphere
Had surgery on my right foot in November and returned for surgery on my left foot today. I found the staff both times to be extremely professional, knowledgeable and personable. I received excellent care and would not hesitate to use them again. Ruth K.
This place is awful! Front office registration staff and pre-op nurses are unprofessional!!! Nurse Joyce Gray was totally unhinged during my visit. She can choke on a needle. Go elsewhere for quality care.
I had a procedure in Feburary 2018 and prepaid my deductable up front the day of surgery. In Novmber I get another bill for $168. The billing department says they coded incorrectly and I actually owe more now. I shouldn't be repsonsible for their mistake 10 months later. This is also being filed with the Better Business Bureau.
Thanks to all staff. Great people, great attitude, great service.
I have been in many surgery centers and hospitals for surgeries/procedures. This facility was by far one of the best! Everyone from the front desk until I was released were extremely nice and helpful. Very professional but friendly atmosphere!
Seems like all medical facilities and Dr offices want your business. Everybody's doing surveys. Baylor Surgicare is the best. Myself and other family members have had procedures there over the years with doctors associated with Baylor University. This facility is a well-oiled machine. Top Notch service and concern from the time you enter the door till they wheelchair you to your car.
My daughter had her surgery here with Dr. Putman. From the moment you walk in to the time you leave everyone was super friendly and just over all awesome! Excellet service!
From the time you walk in the door they were smiling faces very knowledgeable and pampered me while in the prep room to recovery the doctors and staff kept the information board updated so my family waiting outside Would have knowledge of what area I was in either surgery or recovery. Was very pleased with outcome Albert Ayala
