Bruce S Bowers's Online Review Report Card

I would never recommend this doctor and am mystified by so many 5 star reviews. I have to wonder if many of them are legitimate. I brought my father to Dr. Bower's office at the recommendation of his general cardiologist for a valve procedure. The assessment is a day-long process. You go through various tests in the morning and then see the doctor in the afternoon. Upon completion of the tests around 11:30am, we were directed to go to Dr. Bower's office, where we were put in an examination room and told by the nurse that the doctor would not be able to see my dad until his appointment time at 1pm. I told the nurse that we would go home (about 8 minutes away) and would return for the appointment. She told me that we couldn't leave and that we had to wait in the examination room until the appointment ended. I then told her we would run down to the cafeteria to get lunch and be back, and again she said no, that she would bring us lunch. She brought my dad a sandwich. The doctor didn't arrive until after 3:00pm, so we were stuck in the small waiting room for over 3 1/2 hours. On the day of the procedure, my dad was scheduled for 11am. We were waiting in the pre-op area still at 12, when I overheard the staff say that Dr. Bowers was running late due to business. They finally took my dad in around 1. I waited in the waiting area for another 2 hours, while Dr. Bowers came out and talked to numerous other families even though my dad was second in line for the procedure. Finally I went back to the recovery area to ask a nurse about my father's status. The nurse took me to my dad in recovery. The doctor came over when he saw us come in. He told me that he was unable to do the procedure and went on to say that my dad had had a good life! There are a number of highly-recognized interventional cardiologists and hospitals in the city. This is not one I would recommend.

I have been a patient of Dr. Bowers for many years. While it isn't always convenient to drive to Dallas, I am more than happy to do so. He and his staff are the best.

The team at Dr Bowers' ofc are fantastic. They get me in and out on time when I have ofc visits. They listen when I have issues with my meds. They handle refill requests and questions from my pharmacy promptly. They are a friendly and smart group. I feel well cared for here. 5 stars!

Dr. Bowers is a top notch doctor. Always addresses my concerns and very thorough in his treatment.UPDATE: Dr. Bowers has gone way above and beyond my expectations. Genuinely showed concern for my Pulmonary medical problems that are not in his specially field. He has already done more to help with my respiratory issues in one visit than my pulmonologist has done for me in a year. Dr. Bowers has given me new hope that I may be able to breathe better soon.

This was my first visit with Dr Bowers. He was very personable from the moment he walked in, listened to what is going on with me, explained the assessment of my test results and offered logical options forward and asked me to think through it before making a decision right away. Overall, Very pleasant experience and courteous staff.

During my office visit I felt completely comfortable with the procedures set in place by the Dr. Bowers and the staff. As always Dr. Bowers was thorough and patiently answered all my questions.

Dr. Bowers is the best. If I could give him more than 5 stars I would.

Great first visit. Treated as a real person and not just the next animal to be herded through the office.

I was very lucky to get to know Dr. Bruce Bowers one year ago and to be treated by him since then from my heart problems I have. He is immensely gifted, capable, competent, and has the best demeanor. Also, the office staff members are to be commended. They are professional and cordial. I highly recommend heart patients to rely on Dr. Bowers and his team without any hesitation.

This is my first visit to his new office. The office is nice. Dr Bowers always ask a lot of questions while he is examining me and that is what I like. He make me feel like a person not just another patient.
