11 hours of surgery and it was a succesful surgery. Dr Coimbra and his team knows what they are doing. He removed a tumor on my skull. I’m glad I was referred to him.

I was shown into my room 15 minutes early which I appreciated. But then it was 40 minutes before my doctor came in. Once in, he was very reassuring that my condition was fine. He did such an excellent job eight years ago of removing a tumor wrapped around my optic nerve, that I was happy to see him again and know I was in good hands.

He was very knowledgeable when I was taken to Baylor after suffering a seizure following a fall a month prior. Did not know that I had a Subdural hematoma and Dr. Coimbra was the Neurosurgeon on duty! I was blessed in that even though my brain was bleeding, it was absorbing the blood so I did not have to have Dr. Coimbra do surgery to stop the bleeding! Had I needed surgery, he would have been the one! He kept us informed and I was told I only have a tiny scar on my brain! I dodged a bullet but glad Dr. Coimbra was available had I needed surgery!

Would have appreciated a better bedside manor - speaking over a patient and being annoyed by the willingness of a patient to explain, was deplorable. Patience and decency is a virtue that was easily dismissed. We thank him for his help but beyond that he was truly useless and showed no concern for my husband's wellbeing:

I went into my visit very nervous and unsure of what to expect with Dr. Coimbra .As soon as we met Dr Coimbra, we knew he was the right surgeon for me. He answered all of my questions, all of my concerns about my procedure. I am nervous still about my surgery on my end however I no longer fear the ability of my surgeon. I am honored to say that Dr. Coimbra is my surgeon of choice that I trust fully. Dr. Coimbra has a wealth of knowledge in his field along with experience that I have full confidence in, we also saw a humorous side to him, it does exist. I cannot express the relief my husband and I both feel after meeting with him about my surgery. Meet him and see for yourself.

I am writing this heartfelt expression of gratitude and appreciation for two medical professionals who have forever changed my life for the better. They are Dr. Caetano Coimbra and Dr. Grant Gilliland. These world class surgeons recently served as a tag team, who performed an eight hour surgery and served as my restorative agents guided by divinity. Dr. Coimbra, neurosurgeon, supported by his scheduling nurse, Julie, and PA Eric, had great technical skills and compassion. Dr. Coimbra exercised his extraordinary medical expertise with great precision. The front office staff also supported me as part of this experience. As I continue to heal, thank you only scratches the surface of how grateful I am to ALL of you.

I went to Dr. Coimbra for a second opinion several years ago. It's most likely that he added several useful years to my life by NOT doing unneeded surgery. Dr. Coimbra and his staff are both exemplary.
