I've been in this industry for many years and have worked in many different buildings. As a third party vendor I was given the opportunity to come to CC Young for a temporary job while waiting for a job closer to home to open up. After spending a month on the job I realized there was something different about CCY. The culture of CCY is the opposite of anywhere I had worked. The heart of CCY is do what's best for the patient. Decisions are made with that in mind. Unfortunately in this industry that isn't normal. I later had the opportunity to to be hired on as part of the team and what originally seemed like a long commute became worth it to be a part of what is happening at CCY. I hope that you get the chance to spend enough time at CCY to experience what makes them different.

This place is beautiful, but not worth the headache. They are short staffed and over working the little staff they do have. The HR directors are horrible and very disrespectful. They give the run around about fixing problems yet continue to disrespect families and employees.Please don’t send your family here.

This company is only focused on the betterment of the company with little regard for staff. Upper management doesn’t care about staff and there is little to no support. They will ask “How can we improve?” but will completely disregard and undermine your thoughts. I initially shared an office space with a colleague; when she quit, the office was taken from me and given to another staff member with very little explanation as to why. Most of the ADONs are new in their role because everyone has jumped ship. They are very short staffed and will not keep adequate staffing because the turnover rate is extremely high. You will be hired in for one thing and expected to do things that aren’t on your job description under the guise of “We are all universal workers” but they will not cross train you for these tasks. The acting DON in the health center is passive aggressive and condescending. The pay isn’t great and there is NO shift differential for nurses. The bonuses are terrible — you’ll be offered a measly $25 gift card for picking up an extra shift. You get points for clocking OUT late. These points add up. You can’t leave the premises for lunch. When I told the HR assistant, Netta, that the scrubs that were ordered for me were way too big and that I needed to re-order, she told me to “Make it work so the company won’t waste money” even though the scrubs they gave me came from storage to begin with. The campus/buildings are beautiful, but it is all a facade.

Facility is beautiful, therapy and social work departments were helpful. Nurses required close supervision to make sure my parent was adequately clean. My parent ended up leaving with skin breakdown which is unacceptable to me. Many excuses and not a lot of getting the job done.

Don’t send your parent here if they have dementia and need therapy after a surgery! The social services lady is the worst! The food and room are great but after one dementia incident they don’t want to deal with your parent anymore and will make your life extremely stressful until you are able to transfer your parent elsewhere! And even tho I asked for proof that they investigated the incident I have never received any paperwork and it’s been 6 months! Which leads me to believe either A-they never did an investigation or B-they expect you to forget because I was told it takes 90 days to get it to you.
