List of Christopher R Ball's Reviews
Dr. Bell performed a total thyroidectomy on me this May 2019. Although he acknowledged my concerns about possible damage to my vocal cords and parathyroid glands before surgery, he assured me that the surgery would be very meticulous and that any occurrence of hoarseness or low calcium levels would be temporary. After my surgery, Dr. Bell did not come speak to me directly nor follow up with me about how the surgery had gone. I was never informed that my parathyroid glands had been auto-transplanted, but I overheard this in the recovery room. I am now 6 months post-op, and I am still suffering from low calcium and parathyroid levels, as well as a weak voice, due to vocal cord paralysis caused by the surgery. After six months, vocal cord damage is considered permanent. Despite 2 months of speech therapy, my voice has not improved and I will likely have to undergo another procedure to try to improve my voice. This has negatively affected my quality of life.
He is such an outstanding person who made me feel so much comfort and support in getting my surgery done. I recommend him highly, his staff was awesome and he is top notch professional.
Dr. Bell is a very knowledgeable regarding the procedures and takes time to explain and answer all questions. Overall Dr. Bell has the patient best interest when treating.
Dr Bell performed my thyroidectomy. I felt completely at ease with him from my first visit. No pain after the surgery. He is a great surgeon and is a true gentleman as well. Great bedside manners. I trust him with my life! Highly recommend!
I was referred to Dr. Bell for gallbladder removal. It ended up being an emergency case before I could actually met Dr. Bell in the office. I called Dr. Bell that morning, he told me to go straight to the ER since he was in surgery all that day. I got to the ER Dr. Bell had already told them I was coming and everything was setup for me. After a short time in the ER, I was taken to a room. Dr. Bell and the anesthesiologist stopped by to let me know what was going to happen with the surgery. Everyone was super nice, the entire hospital staff went above and beyond the whole time I was there. Dr. Bell spoke with me before my surgery, he made me feel so comfortable and at ease. Surgery went great, and Dr. Bell came to check on me the next afternoon before discharging me. I cannot say enough nice things about Dr. Bell and the entire staff at Medical City. I was truly blessed to have him do my surgery.
I liked Dr Bell personally. He was very relaxed and reassuring, took his time explaining my situation (hernia), took his time explaining my options and giving his input, listened to all my questions without hurrying during my initial visit and made me feel extremely at ease despite me having a pretty bad case of "white coat syndrome". That all went well. The anesthesiologist called the evening before (Dr Chandra) and was AMAZING. I was very anxious-ridden and he listened to my requests and he did EXACTLY what I requested the next day and I thoroughly endorse him. My let-down with Dr Bell (and office) was post-operation, and admittedly, perhaps it's with my expectations. Though I was in the post-op room for 3-4 hours (I think, I was pretty loopy!), Dr Bell never came in to tell me how it went. Yes, he did come and speak with my family briefly after the surgery. I also understand he may have had other surgeries, but I didn't hear from him that day, the next, or ever since. Again, I may be off base with expectations, but I'd like to think they'd take 2 minutes at ANY point after the surgery to call and check-in, let me know the surgery went as expected, give me a heads up what to expect post-op with anesthesia, diet, digestion, etc. The nurses did some of this (admirably), but I would have liked 2 minutes from my surgeon to answer my questions and let me know it went well. Secondly, I called the office to ask a question a few days ago about exercising and they've yet to call me back. The phone number is an automated service so I don't actually get a live person - that's disappointing. On a VERY high note though, I can not say enough about the myriad nurses and employees at MEDICAL CITY that I met for pre-op appointment, surgery and post-op. What a phenomenal group of people: caring, they pay attention to you, there's no hurrying, you are definitely NOT a number to any of them. One of my pre-op appointment nurses (from two days prior!) even came in and checked on me AFTER the surgery! I can't imagine having any surgery done anywhere else but Medical City.By all accounts my surgery went well, for that I thank Dr Bell for that's the most important part. I wouldn't hesitate recommending him to a friend or family member.
I have a significant number of friends and family that work in the medical community. When i found out that i needed surgery I was naturally inclined to find the best doctor. I spoke with more than 10 physician friends and was directed to Dr. Bell 9 out of ten times. Dr. Bell seems to be the go to guy for physicians and their family members. Initially meeting with Dr. Bell i was expecting another hot shot surgeon with a large ego. THIS IS NOT DR. BELL!!! Dr Bell is a down to earth guy with a great disposition and genuinely cares for his patient and the service he delivers. He took a significant amount of time explaining my options for treatment and described in detail what to expect pre and post op.His staff was also a great deal of help getting all my labs, paperwork, insurance, and scheduling done. The staff was extremely efficient!! I don't think all this took more that 30 minutes. Finally, surgery day was here and all my expectations were exceeded by Dr. Bell. I had my surgery at 9am and was home with no discomfort or pain whatsoever by noon.If you need surgery and are fortunate enough to see Dr. Christopher Bell... You will not be disappointed.
i would recommend Dr Christopher Bell to family/friends he is a sweetheart and knows his job.
I have had two very difficulty surgery with Dr. Bell - Splenectomy and Peritonitis. I can say Dr. Bell save my life and give me second birthday.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
