I love Dr Laura Lawrence . She is a wonderful doctor. I like her as good Dr because she totally understands about ASL INTERPRETER. . She was my favorite Dr .
It has taken me a long while to not only come to a conclusion on what all I wanted to disclose in this review, but also to comprehend just how bad the treatment at Dr Gadas was. I should start off by saying I’m now with a new Dr, who is SO AMAZING! That is what truly showed me just HOW BAD I was taken care of at Dr Gadas. I did so much research to pick our Dr when we decided to start this journey. We knew we were on such limited funds that we really wanted to make it count! After reading through reviews, plus the fact he was so close to our house, we decided to go with Dr Gada. We had an initial consult with him. His bed side manors were awesome. He seemed to really care, and seemed to know his stuff. I was a little put off that he told me vitamins and supplements do nothing and to discontinue any I was currently taking, however, he was the Dr so I trusted him. After the consult we decided to move forward with our fertility journey. Just to give you an idea of what all procedures we did with him, here’s a list. 1- IUI 2- Egg Retrievals 2- Transfers (one was only an attempt) 1- Polyp removal surgery All of this was around 50,000 dollars. Once the initial great consult was over….. we almost NEVER saw the Dr. We saw him only for the major procedures. Never for sonograms. Never for appointments leading up to the procedures. Not even for our IUI. We didn’t even talk to him at any point during or leading up to our IUI. A nurse performed the IUI, not him. When I would talk to one of the nurses, Shelly, she was so rude we finally asked to have a different nurse. Upon doing more research, everyone I knew who had Shelly eventually asked for a different nurse. I will say all of the other nurses were pleasant enough. After my first egg retrieval we decided to get our embryos PGT tested. The company that they sent our biopsy’s to….. LOST OUR BIOPSIES. It took a month and a half to get the results in on if our embryos were okay or not. Every time we would call the company to ask if they had found them, they didn’t even know what I was talking about. I called Dr Gadas office on two different occasions in tears that nobody would help me and they lost our biopsy’s. We were informed it was up to me to figure it out. They wouldn’t even call the company for me. It was DEVASTATING. A nurse gave me the company’s representative number and said “Maybe this will help, there’s nothing else I can tell you.” So we finally got that figured out. Fast forward to our transfer. Again- One of the only times we see the Dr. I ended up having a miscarriage. Never talked to the Dr, not even a phone call once it was confirmed I was having a miscarriage. I finally called the office to see if we could talk to the Dr to see if we would change protocol, or If he had any idea what happened. We were informed he could “maybe call us on a Tuesday when he got off work.” I pleaded for them to ask if he could call after 5:30 as I had to work that day (they wouldn’t let us pick any other day.) We were told they would leave him a note and that’s the best they could do. Sure enough, he called at 4. I couldn’t answer the phone so he had to talk to my husband. My husband recorded the conversation so I could hear it later….. he wouldn’t even get my chart out to look at it during the conversation. At this point we were so frustrated it was all I could do to not burst into tears every other day. We were getting no where with him or his staff. Fast forward to egg retrieval number 2. We again asked if we could talk to the dr to see if our second egg retrieval would follow different protocol….. again…. We were told he would “try to call us on a Tuesday after work”….. and again…. He didn’t even have my chart pulled when he talked to us. We were nothing but another cow in his cattle call. Fast forward to my next transfer. They MISSED my ovulation and we had to scrap the ENTIRE cycle. No call from the Dr. No changed protocol. We didn’t even request a call from the dr after that. On top of the Dr complaints, many times the nurses missed things. You’re never assigned one nurse. You talk to the office through a portal. So many times you talk to multiple people who don’t know what you’re talking about. Because of this MANY times we had to remind THEM to send in a prescription. On one occasion they didn’t even remember they were going to put me on birth control to speed up my transfer date. I had to go over it with them and request it be done. Unbelievable. My husband was FURIOUS. The amount of negligence was so upsetting and truly disturbing. We stayed with him so long because we kept thinking “We’re almost done after this procedure.” But then we’d have something else go wrong and when all was said and done, we were with him almost exactly a year to the day. We were nothing but a cattle call. The real kicker. Dr Gada was SO HARD to get ahold of and NEVER was there for ANY appointment other than a procedure. But once we decided to leave, he immediately called me and asked if there was anything he could do and if I was okay. A YEAR We waited for him to talk to use and at least act like he cared. Fast forward to now. We switched Dr’s and the difference was night and day. We were assigned a nurse and she’s the only nurse we talk to. And she answers all our emails and has regular meetings with us to make sure we feel secure in all our decisions. We see the Dr EVERY visit unless it’s something super minor like a blood drawl. The level of care is SO UNBELIEVABLY different. Once we got away from Dr Gada I started reaching out to other women. Here’s what I figured out. Years ago he cared a lot and was super attentive, but once his numbers got to where they are now, he does as little as possible and relies on his nurses to do everything else. And on top of that, his nurses are vastly over worked. All I can conclude is it’s now about the money for him. My husband decided half way through this I would leave this review no matter if he got me pregnant or not because the care was so awful. We finally left, not pregnant. But not becoming pregnant is NOT why this review is being left. It is the level of care, or lack there of should I say. On that same note: My new Dr had my pregnant in less than a month. But more than that we’re so confident in him. Even had he not got us pregnant, we would have stayed with him as well as been happy with him. The amount of emotional and physical stress fertility treatments put you through is so intense. My husband and I just couldn’t sit back and not leave a review to warn people. I hope this review helps another patient make a wiser choice on your Dr Selection.
We absolutely love Dr. Lawrence and her staff. They are the most kind and caring people. If you have to go through infertility treatments, I highly recommend her and her staff
Dr Lawrence is the best ever she wasn’t just my doctor she was part of my support she was very active with us through this entire process.. Kelly her nurse was amazing she put up with me through the entire process and still after now that I’m pregnant yes I’m pregnant 3 months today . I still reach out to Kelly with different questions and she reply back although I have an OB doctor now. Dr Lawrence entire staff is amazing. Thank you all so much DFW Fertility!!!!
Dr. Lawrence snd her medical city team are amazing!!! We started our journey to become parents with her in November 2019. After a few attempts to conceive naturally we proceeded to try an IUI procedure in August of 2020. Fast forward to today and my husband and I are the proud parents of the most incredible 7 week old baby boy!! Thank you Dr. Lawrence for helping our dreams come true of becoming parents!! We look forward to working with you on our second!!
Can’t say enough great things about this practice! We have Dr. Chantilis to thank for our beautiful daughter. Dr. C and his nurses were kind, compassionate, and caring during the whole process. I felt like Dr. C really took the time to get to know us and came up with various approaches to help make our IVF successful. Thank you DFW Fertility Associates for giving us a family and making our dreams come true!!
Dr. Lawrence is such a bright light! We have a 20 month old from our first FET and just did our 2nd FET yesterday.🤞🏼I trust her and know that she will always do what she feels is best for the patient. She is conservative in her approach, but she wants to get everything right. She is honest and realistic when it comes to stats, etc, but also optimistic and encouraging, which I think everyone wants/needs during such a challenging time in their life. Thank you for all you do!💜
Dr. Lawrence is a fantastic doctor and does a fantastic job of explaining options to her patients. Nurse Kelly is also wonderful and helpful if you ever have questions. I was sad to say goodbye to all of them upon “graduating” to my regular doctor once we found out we were pregnant. These women are truly caring all the way around and are incredibly special people. I am so thankful to have been referred to Dr. Lawrence and be one of her patients.
Everybody at DFW fertility associates is friendly and welcoming. They take all of your needs seriously and make you feel positive in an environment that can be uncomfortable. For such a hard thing to go through, they do an amazing job making you feel like you can do anything. I am very grateful for the help they have provided me since day one! Thank you for everything❤️
I cannot speak highly enough about DFW Fertility Associates. I saw Dr. Mika Thomas and she was incredible! Very personable, truly cares about you as a person, and is super knowledgeable. We trusted her 100%. And her nurses (Marrisa and Leah) are amazing (and the sonogram tech Candice)! I felt confident I was getting the best care. Here are things I really appreciated: - They give you same day updates on all labs, tests, sonograms, etc. I was never left wondering or waiting. - Their facility is professional and their equipment is top notch. I didn't realize this until I had sonograms at other places and realized the quality of the imaging was not as good as I had become accustomed to at DFW Fertility. - Dr. Thomas and her team are super compassionate and caring. We had many ups and downs in our journey and I felt so cared for through it all. When we got pregnant through IVF and had our first sonogram, Candice (sonogram tech) asked us if we wanted to record the heartbeat on our phone, which was so thoughtful!! (we were so excited and distracted that we didn't even think to capture that moment until she mentioned it). - We always felt empowered to make decisions. Dr. Thomas would present us with our options and talk through things with us, but ultimately it was always up to us and how we wanted to proceed. I can happily say we are pregnant with our first baby all thanks to Dr. Thomas and her team. If you're searching for an infertility doctor, look no further! You will not be disappointed.
