List of Damien Mallat's Reviews
I wish I would have read the reviews before I made an appointment with this doctor. First of all, according to my recent phone log I tried to contact this office for the past hour with the attempt to discuss my appointment tomorrow. The phone rings and goes to a voicemail that is full. When I scheduled my initial appointment, the office had me down for the wrong location. I was told by office staff three different times an email will be sent with instructions for the procedure, which never came. A day before my procedure, I asked if the nurse has any information on my end and I was told “you can call them and find out“. The nurse I spoke to, seemed irritated by my questions I asked with no previous answers. I received a phone call regarding an appointment tomorrow which was also at the wrong time from the follow up procedure conversation. Please don’t waste your time, energy, or emotions by visiting this office. A perfect example that customer service is dead.
Would not recommend this doctor. He simply won't return my phone calls, and is extremely difficult to contact for appointment scheduling. Also is a rather rude person - he did not cure my medical condition, and seems totally indifferent to it. I will be contacting another doctor.
I would give him zero starts if it were possible. He is a horrible doctor who does not care about patients. I’ve had many colonoscopies done by several doctors but never one as bad as he preformed. He didn’t remove the air used during the procedure leaving me in extreme pain for hours after the procedure. I literally could not even walk I was hurting so bad. Not to mention that the entire procedure was timed at 11 minutes which is absurdly short. He is dangerous and anyone who sees him should report him to the Medical Board for malpractice. Do not see him.
Dr. Damien Mallat was referred for me to see from my employer Baylor, Scott & White Healthcare System/Select Medical Corp. in Dallas, Texas, because of a work related injury case. I did not read these previous Google reviews before agreeing to schedule an appointment with him, but I wish I had! It took several days due to their poor communication just to get an appointment set up, and it was just for a phone call. He was also about 45 minutes late with that as well, continuing to tie up my time. I got this horrible, sick feeling in my stomach when I was talking with him on the phone because of his tone of voice (gruff), very cold, and did not seem to want to waist much of his time with me. I briefly told him what I had been experiencing, and immediately told me that I needed a colonoscopy. Just like that! No blood work/tests, or physical exam done. This physician had never laid eyes on me before. Intuition told me not to bother following up with this guy because of his cold and condescending attitude. Now, a few months down the road I am reading other peoples experiences on Google Reviews about how bad this physician is, so I take solace in knowing that it was not just me thinking this. Furthermore, what is even more eyebrow raising is this is the ONLY GI specialist that BSWH/Select Medical Corp would approve me to see. I am schocked that they did not do a little research on this office and this particular physician. I even voiced my concerns and compliants to my Human Resourse Director, Ms. Karen Hill about how he talked to me over the phone and about his reputation from other GI specialists telling me to not see him, and that this particular physican had "behavioral problems"!! It even gets more sickening that they (BSW and Select Medical) still insist that I have to see this physician if I want to continue to be covered under their "work injury plan". Take it from me, do not get involved with this physician, because from my little interaction that I had, my gut told me to run!!
Veteran with scheduled appointment 1 month ahead and was called 2 weeks later telling me they won't see me and I have to reschule for a different day. This is expected. Hence the 2.3 rating on Google for the Dr. Why not see the patients you have schedule a month in advance and then change your appointment. Some veterans actually work full time jobs like my swlf
Great service and procedure every time.
Dr. Mallat is a wonderful doctor! He is very very highly intelligent and knowledgeable. Yes, his bedside manner may not be as expected but his care and treatment are far superior. He was the gentlest and most attentive doctor I have had the pleasure of being treated by. He treated me in 2017. Thank you!
Great service and very professional. I'm not sure what is wrong with the folks complaining about him, maybe they had a bad experience but mine was great.
I don't know what's going on with this Dr. He must be having a real hard go of things. Zero follow up, no explanation of what care he was going to give. Nothing mentioned about how he isn't seeing patients in person. Not the best experience.
Amazing place!!!!!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
