What are the reasons I knew very quickly that I would never return to Dr. Shaheen? Long wait in tiny, noisy waiting room. His outward appearance was calm, but he was obviously irritated with a staff member the moment I first saw him. He answered all my questions with one word, or the shortest possible answer. But the main reason is when I asked for an additional retina exam he definitely seemed irriated, and performed it as hastily as possible, and charged the maximum for it, around $300. In contrast, my new eye doctor I saw today charges $130 for an equivalent retinal exam, and suggested a $25 retinal photo as a more reasonable alternative unless I was seeing flashes which I'm not. Would never return to Dr. Shaheen.

The reason I am giving all 1 stars and would never recommend this Dr.: I was quoted $155 for soft contact lenses and glasses when I made my appointment. When I got there I was shuffled out of there in less than 15 minutes with the wrong prescription. I brought in the boxes of my current prescription which WORKED. He proceeded to tell me what he gave me was correct but to come back in if it didn't work, which has never happened to me. And it didn't work! Imagine that. I have been seeing Optometrists for 25 years. When I checked out the total was $197. I asked why because I was quoted $155. They said that I was not quoted that amount. By far the worst experience. Inaccurate prescription and misquoted for services over the phone. They will not reimburse my payment after speaking with the Office Manager. Now I am disputing with my bank. This deserves a refund. I will contact the BBB if there is no response or refund.
