THE BEDT!!

I went in on the recommendation of my GP because she was concerned about Chron’s disease or IBS. When I told Dr Odem of her concerns and my symptoms, they were dismissed and when he discovered a hemorrhoid, he went ahead with a band procedure without explaining it until after it was done. I was told pain would last 24-48 hours and I could drive home. The pain was some of the worst I have felt and I almost threw up driving home. I missed an entire week of work and had to go to the ER after a couple of days. My blood pressure shot to 176/93 and my inflammation was really bad. I told Dr Odems office and they didn’t seem concerned about seeing me any sooner. I was verbally told my follow up would be in 2 weeks, but they scheduled it for 3 weeks. I am not someone who complains about pain or tries to be difficult. This was one of the most painful experiences in my life and I am now actively looking for a new doctor to find out what actually is happening with my body. Horrible experience

NO BEDSIDE MANNERS here! I'm a tiny, healthy, physically fit 71 year old woman with a sensitive system, so my internist told Dr. Odom to use low anesthesia, for instance. Nonetheless he proscribed a one-size-fits-all colonoscopy prep, which caused 18.5 hours of explosive bowel activity, dehydration and sleeplessness. At 7 am on a trip to the bathroom I blacked out and fell. I awoke with the back of my head aching top to bottom from hitting the corner of a wall; a cut, purple, swollen elbow; ringing ears and pain all over. I could not walk so crawled to my phone and to bed. I called my internist, who said, "We're not doing this." I thought that meant she was cancelling the procedure and turned off the phone. Later when I called his office, the scheduler, Amanda, coldly lectured me on bureaucratic rules regarding the patient's responsibility to cancel. There was zero concern for my health or feelings. I hung up. She sent a No Show bill. Today I called again. The woman answering only disclosed after several minutes that she was the nurse. From the outset, she adopted a cold, adversarial, sarcastic tone and grilled me (Did you react this way six years ago? Did you get checked after hitting your head? Did you go to the ER?) and then read Amanda's fabricated, sophomoric account of our conversation, accusing me of screaming, swearing and hanging up. Based on her report of my alleged behavior, Amanda recommended billing me the No Show fee, which Dr.Odom normally would have waived, and Dr. Odom agreed with her without ever checking on the patient! Clearly this is a practice where the patient is always wrong, staff indulge in verbal and emotional abuse and the doctor is punitive! There is no concern for the patient's wellbeing. No courtesy. No common sense, no compassion. You have options. Why risk subjecting yourself to these people? Why trust them with your health?

Dr. Odom is an exceptional doctor. Both myself and my husband are his patients. He put me back together March, 2012, after a very serious surgery in December, 2011. He took care of my husband twice, once in 2015 and again in 2019. We would not go anywhere else.

One of my favorite doctors. He is kind and considerate knowing we don't really like our situation but need his expertise. Makes you feel comfortable anyways. Great surgeon and recommended to all needing colorectal expert. Thank you so much Dr Odom and your Staff

Dr. Odom sat down with me in his office, listened to everything I had to say, then recommended an immediate procedure that had me feeling near 100% in minutes. Wonderful experience for a less than wonderful medical issue. Found him through TCRS, would recommend.

Best colon doctor ever. Straight forward and very nice to talk to. Have been seeing him for close to 10 yrs now. Would never change.

This Doctor's office deserves twice the number of stars. If you are in need of the kind of medicine Dr. Odom practices, no need to look any further. Not only is Dr. Odom a wonderful practitioner in that he is kind, gentle, empathetic, super knowledgeable; his office staff is similarly wonderful. Easily this is one of the best doctor experiences my family has ever had.

Dr. Odom has been my physician since 2008. He is simply the best & has taken me thru an 8 hour surgery & 2 other hospital stays in these past 10 years.
