J. Andrew Bird Md's Online Review Report Card

It pains me to write a negative review, as I don't have any issues with Dr. Bird personally. Dr. Bird has come highly recommended and we couldn't agree more after visiting with him. His office is well suited for kids of all ages. Although Dr. Bird does have a long lead time for an appointment, we believe his expert advice is worth the wait. My daughter and I have visited the office throughout the last 1.5 years for her food related allergies and nearly every time the there has been cluelessness and disorganization between the staff. We are told months, weeks, days in advance one thing, and upon arrival its not what we expected. A few examples: We have been given appointment dates and times, and upon confirmation told they were all incorrect. We were told to bring Nutella for a Hazelnut food challenge, and upon arriving told they couldn't use Nutella for testing. We were told to cook scrambled eggs or french toast for a egg food challenge, and on arrival told that there would be no food challenge. This has caused a lot of dissatisfaction and wasted time, which could could easily be corrected with better communication and organization between Dr. Bird' orders and his staff. We will continue to see Dr. Bird and his office in hopes that the next visitation will be more sorted out and the staff will be better prepared.

Dr. Bird was very patient and thorough with us when we visited him for our son's food allergies! We were referred to him by another doctor who spoke very highly of him and we can see why! His knowledge of our "rare" food allergy was very helpful and encouraging to us. We left with information of how to move forward in treating our son's reactions along with details on trialing new foods. We appreciated his staff as well - all in all a great experience and worth the drive!

Best food allergy specialist on the planet. Our son has severe food allergies and EOE. Dr Bird managed them both. He is hard to get because of how thorough and effective he is with patients. He has cared for my son for a really long time and he knows his patients and I love that. Dr Bird has helped my son in every way through his techniques. He is not arrogant or cocky his work speaks for itself. You will feel like your child is his only patient with the kind of time and patience he gives. You feel like family with Dr. Bird. My son saw Dr. Bird to confirm if he was allergic to eggs and peanut. We worked with a fellow and several nurses along with Dr. Bird and everyone was very comforting, polite, and kind!

Dr Bird has been treating my grandson for 5-6 yrs (maybe even a little bit longer); my grandson had been diagnosed with Esophillic Esophagitis (EoE) & had a nasal tube for awhile b/c he couldn't, or wouldn't eat much of anything b/c it would make him sick & was underweight. Under care of Dr Bird & his dietician, where he was underweight & at ine point could only eat apples, applesauce, apple juice, & carrots, he is now able to eat everything (not that he does) 🤣. Grandson was also severely allergic to eggs & we had the egg challenge done earlier this year, and he is no longer allergic to eggs. Dr Bird and his entire staff, are AMAZING & truly care about their patients & patients family. Highly recommend!

Dr. Drew Bird is the best Allergist in DFW and a wonderful human being who is truly committed to helping kids with allergies. Our son who has severe food allergies has improved over time with Dr Bird’s help and has overcome some of his allergies as well over time under Dr. Bird! Dr Bird has access to the leading studies that are being conducted and is able to provide top class treatment and options for kids with severe food allergies!

Both of my kids are dr. Bird’s patients. He is the only doctor that I trust for food allergies. I highly recommend him.

Doctor Bird has cared for our daughter twice at the annual Food Allergy summer camp. He genuinely cares for the kids and is a leading researcher in diagnosing and treating food allergies. If we lived in Dallas he would definitely be our primary specialist for our daughter and treating her food allergies.
