If anyone needs open heart surgery Dr. Mac is your surgeon and Medical Heart Dallas is your hospital. They were both fabulous. My son Kyle needed emergency Heart Valve surgery. And there were no beds at Baylor Heart or UT Southwestern. And the doctors suggested were vacation. But Amber his girlfriend with her tenacity and effort to save my son's life got him into Medical Heart and Spine and with Dr. Macannaford. We couldn't be happier with the care and the service. The surgery went great he was in ICU 1.5 days. The nurses were on him 24/7 keeping him comfortable and out of pain. I am glad those other 2 didn't work out so that we ended up here. They literally saved Kyle's life. I can't say enough they are a 10 star hospital and Dr. MAC is and10 star heart surgeon. Will, Tiffany and Jordan his nurses were awesome. Checked on him all the time and kept him completely out of pain. I hope this helps someone. JillK

My son Kyle went to 2 hospitals until he found out he had a bicusbid aortic valve problem. Dr. Juan Machannaford was just wonderful. Best bedside manner explained everything and made you feel comfortable. Excellent surgeon he fixed his valve and he was in ICU in no time. In excellent condition. I can't say enough about him and Medical Heart and Spine hospital Dallas. When you look for a heart doctor to put your life in Dr. Machannaford is your man. I hope this helps someone. JillK

Dr McHanaford was an amazing god send to help my husband through a extensive serious heart surgery. I can’t thank him and the staff enough.

Dr. Mac performed my heart transplant 4/8/20. Saved my life. Caring, professional and to the point. Had me out of the hospital asap. God bless him.

This surgeon worked on me for about 3.5 hours this man is very knowledgeable and a man who believes in God. I wouldn't be here if no for him. Bless you doctor may all your days be happy ones.J. Paul Miner

Dr. Machannaford took care of my loved one in the hospital. I was appalled at his behavior. He did a poor job answering questions, seeming frustrated to discuss with anything with us. He spent very little time with my family, always rushed, and seemed short. Even the nurses complained about his demeanor and skills in the operating room. My father was in healthcare and he never treated anyone this horribly. I would not recommend bringing your loved one to him. Poor communication, poor rapport, and poor surgeon.

I was sent to Dr. Mac by my heart doctor. His staff got me in fast and was able to have heart surgery I needed the next week. He saved my life! I was only in the hospital for 5 days!

Unprofessional, bigheaded, needlessly difficult to work with. He's no where skilled enough to justify his attitude. His staffing issues root from lack of people wanting to work with him. Furthermore, never even rounded on our patient. If he did, clearly he didn't make a lasting impression. Will be last resort cardiothoracic surgeon I will consult in future.
