James Thornton Md's Online Review Report Card

My father is 85 and lives 2 hours away from Dallas. We saw Dr. Thornton to close up an area where a melanoma was removed from my father's face. Dr. Thornton explained everything about my fathers procedure and aftercare thoroughly and answered our questions and addressed our concerns. He took time to get to know what would make things easier for my father during and after the surgery. Overall our experience was excellent. My only complaints (not about the Dr.) might be that our nurse was difficult for my father to understand due to her very heavy accent and the sidewalk at the front was deeply textured so it was painful for my father to be rolled in a wheelchair on. Either way, we absolutely return here for care in the future and highly recomend to family and friends.

Dr. Thornton is absolutely amazing!! I had the Mohs surgery done on the tip of my nose which left a nickel size hole in it. He did the nasal flap surgery and its healing beautifully. I highly recommend him to do his magic!

I went to see Dr. Thornton on a referral from another patient of his. I had multiple and complicated issues that needed to be addressed very quickly. Dr. Thornton displayed a genuine interest and concern for the problems I was facing. He spent an inordinate amount of time with me and my husband, explaining every option to us. He answered our questions and gently guided us to the proper and most effective solutions. My surgeries went very well with beautiful results. Dr. Thornton stayed in contact with me after my procedures and I was grateful for his kindness, concern and skill. I recommend him without reservation. He has a patient for life. Dr. Thornton performed a skin graft on my nose and did an excellent job. The man has awesome bedside manners and his staff is wonderful. I had previously had a horrible experience with another Dr. My opinion is he is a master at what he does!

I also had reconstructive surgery on my nose. I feel it turned out as well as can be expected as the Mohs surgery was extensive. I think he is great. I think he is very kind also.

Uncommunicative, mediocre plastic surgeon who did a poor skin graft to repair a large bcc excision on my nose. Totally inaccurate about how long it would take to heal. Was not supportive at all when 3 months turned into a year and then 2.

Dr. Thornton did day after Mohs surgery reconstruction on my nose. The result was a disappointment as the resulting scar from the skin graft is large, ugly and permanent. I left a message for Dr. Thornton to call me before the surgery to talk over what I could expect and he never returned my phone call. The outpatient clinic is impersonal and the day surgery is like a conveyer belt. I would not use him again.

Superb SURGEON who knows exactly what he envisions for reconstruction surgery to become a reality! He successfully remade my ear beyond my highest expectations when having lost a significant amount to skin cancer. He allows his patients continued follow-up through texting to his cell phone and visits with his nurse, Jennifer. I more than highly recommend Dr. Thornton as a plastic surgeon as well as his capable team and staff!
