List of Maria Alexianu's Reviews
She was the 5th neurologist I went to and I finally had a diagnosis. She was thorough and did not dismiss my problems and concerns.
Very cold impersonal office...the Dr & the employees... No hello, good morning, no introductions...went once...never again...A return appointment date was given...I never went...They never called to confirm... never called to ask why...Terrible office...Beware this Dr...
Thorough, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable.
I have been a patient of Dr. Alexianu's for five years now. She diagnosed my MS. She has been very thorough in my care, medication, testing, etc. When I have a question of any sort, I will email her and she will respond always by the end of her work day. I am a very happy patient and have never experienced any negative interaction with Dr. Alexianu or her staff. She was with me every step of the way when I was sick and in the hospital.
I was at overlook hospital from 11/20-11/22 and I didn’t even want her in my room after the first time I met her. I did let the nursing staff and Dr. Sharma know that if Dr. Alexianu came in to my room, I would politely ask her to leave. When I met her, she did not listen to a word I said, she spoke over me, she BARELY made eye contact with me, she completely overlooked my Multiple Sclerosis and jumped right to epilepsy. I saw her ONCE while I was there, mind you I was admitted because I passed out and urinated on myself in triage. I begged for an MRI (her and Dr. Sharma) and I was denied…by the both of them. I went to my normal neurologist Dr. Naik upon discharge, THANK GOD and what is the game plan now??? An ambulatory EEG and GETTING ME IN FOR AN MRI ASAP. Dr. Alexianu is an awful doctor. I don’t trust her opinions, and I have no interest in ever receiving medical advice or care from her. EVER. And her bedside manner is absolutely appalling. I told Dr. Naik’s office that if I ever experience an MS emergency, and Dr. Alexianu is the only neurologist on call, I will WAIT and SUFFER until I can see another neurologist, preferably Dr. Naik. Don’t just stay away from this poor excuse of a doctor, run!
What a excellent doctor ....she knows what she is doing and knows how to treat people . ..I would give her a hundred stars if I could
Dr. Alexianu is very thorough and made me feel taken seriously with my headache complaint. I had been to another neurologist who was quite dismissive in his manner, which led me to seek a new neurologist. Dr. Alexianu came highly recommended and I quickly saw why. She listened carefully to my symptoms, asked me probing questions, and assured me that she would be able to help ease my headaches which were by then 3 months long without cease. Dr. Alexianu did in fact find a medication that works for me, and has been very supportive and engaged in my case. She prescribed physical therapy in a pool, in response to my fibromyalgia. I found her staff efficient and thorough as well. A wonderful doctor.
I have been seeing Dr. Alexianu for about 19 years. She knows me and my condition very well! I recommend her practice to anyone suffering with debilitating/hospitalizations due to EXTREME chronic migraine!!! She provides me with very professional care and cares for my condition where I got my life back! I am forever grateful!

She knew quickly that my FIL was having issues with memory but that would take time and tests. She was also very interested in trying to help with his neuropathy at the same time even though that was not why we went. Its somewhat time consuming for appointments but totally worth it. Even when other doctors couldnt/wouldnt diagnose his alzheimer's she pushed for tests and we finally got answers.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
