MIchael C. Oh's Online Review Report Card

I had met with five surgeons before I accepted Dr. Michael C Oh of Richardson, Texas to perform a laminectomy operation on my spine. One of the surgeons said I would have to have pins and screws attached to my spine and I would need four months in rehab and it would take 1 1/2 years for total recovery. Another surgeon sent me 29 pages of paperwork to read and fill out before we even met. Thanks to Dr. Michael C Oh, I was hospitalized for two days, rehab for two days and when I returned home I was TOTALLY independent and pain free from the minute I woke up after the operation (I am 74) Thank heaves, I did not give up when I was in pain while researching to find the right surgeon. In addition, Dr Oh's anesthesiologist gave me the confidence to proceed with the operation without fear. Methodist Hospital was immaculate and the staff was superb!!

I absolutely love Dr. Michael Oh. I suffered an Ischemic stroke back in 2014 and he performed a craniotomy on me and saved my life. His staff is awesome and very friendly.

Staff is personable and friendly. Appointments are on time. They explained everything in detail and I never felt rushed.

Dr. Oh was wonderful! He explained all procedures to my Mom & myself. After my surgery he advised my Mom how it went, what his opinion was for the future & the treatment plan for "in the meanwhile".

Lots of stories about back surgery out there. Most of them scary. Forget scary with Dr. Oh. I had a lumbar laminectomy at L 2 thru L 4. Surgery took about 2 hours and my back pain was gone when I woke up. My back feels better than it has in 20 years and I had zero problems with the surgery or the incision. Dr. Oh is a top rate professional and he is to be trusted with his diagnosis and surgery.

I have worked in medicine for over 13 years and was recently referred to Dr Oh by my Rheumatologist. Absolutely LOVE this office and staff. Dr Oh is amazing at educating the patient (the paper on the exam tables often has a drawing or two of spinal components or procedures 😂). He is compassionate and works around patient needs. I trust him fully! In addition, I met with a NP who was so very nice, and stepped in to make sure I was tended to because Dr Oh was running behind. This is so considerate and refreshing. I would have understood if he was behind, but it goes to show how dedicated to patient care and satisfaction they are. The staff are all friendly, efficient and professional. The practice is a well oiled machine! Thank you for practices like this!!!!

My husband has been a patient of Dr Oh’s for several years. Dr Oh and his team take excellent care of the patient and the family. He keeps me well informed of all important details, including having someone update me during surgery. His amazing bedside manner is the perfect accompaniment to his stellar surgical skills. We always recommend Dr Oh to anyone requiring a fantastic neurosurgeon.

Dr. Oh was suggested to me from a friend. I had an MRI previously done but the Dr who did it wasn't on my insurance so I had to look for one. During my consultation he was attentive and explained what he knew well but basically said nothing significant to do anything about so I just needed to wait another year and reevaluate the situation. I was already in so much pain I couldn't even stand for more than a few minutes at a time. Disheartening to hear nothing could be done so I just agreed to come back in a year. I left feeling like it was all in my head and I was just maybe being dramatic. I continued to get worse until my PCP finally said enough and asked me to go see someone she recommended. Glad I did as I really did have some significant issues that needed to be addressed quickly. Dr. Oh is kind and I'm certain he has helped many patients but to miss this issue was disheartening. For patients with a clear cut issue I would probably recommend him but for someone with a complex issue I would suggest looking else where.
