List of R. Wayne Bowman Md's Reviews
Bad to worse. Recommended by UTSW Optical Shop employee for cataract surgery. I was impressionable. First appointment doctor disinterested and dismissive. Advised his wife got depressed and bought a lot of makeup! Mediocre results first surgery. Bad results from second capsulotomy. During lasering I had shortness of breath and panting, asked for a rest. When resumed, seemed rushed. Homeward something was painfully pressing into that eye. Returned to office. "He should have rinsed eye more". Stopped and said, "he would not leave a lense in my eye as they are too expensive." Last appointment doctor said he wanted to look under eyelid and reached for an instrument. Turned to me and said repeatedly, "I am going to torture you." To me a threat of torture is torture. Finally saw R. Wayne Bowman 20/20.
Excellent surgeon at UTSW. I am extremely happy with my results; and, the communication received by not only the surgeon, but also his team. I have been dreading lasik for years (even though I REALLY needed it) because there are so many surgeons to chose from, I didn’t want to make the wrong choice with someone who would hold the future of my vision in their hands. Dr. Bowman came highly recommended by several ophthalmologist in the DFW area — which said a lot. UTSW has 2, top of the line lasers, and he will chose what’s right for you. Excellent technology. My surgery was seamless and unlike other places who provide one or two post-op visits after surgery, Dr. Bowman will continue to follow my progress and healing for one year. Thoroughly impressed.
We have been seeing Dr. Bowman for 4 years. He’s personable, funny, compassionate, but, more than that, he’s an exceptional clinician. He’s normally quite busy and often late, but that’s because he gives you all the time needed to ensure your care is the best. My husband has been more than blessed to be his patient.
Is there another? Hard to believe, this doc is the TOPS! If you get lucky, he'll be able to take care of you, but in addition to his teaching at UT SW, he takes of patients. Extremely well, I might add. We would trust NO other!
Dr. Bowman has removed cataracts in both eyes. He has always answered questions in a way that I could understand and I have trust in his expertise.
The wait time IS ridiculous, but he and his people were very thorough, and I've scheduled my somewhat-complicated surgery with him because he has more experience with RK patients than anyone else I've looked at. After a whole lot of tests and an exam from one of the doctors who works under him, I talked to the man himself for a good 15 or 20 minutes. He, his staff and I were the only ones left in the building when I was done (plus one valet, who very kindly waited until 7 p.m. for me to come out).
Excellent individual and Doctor. He saved my eye from entamoeba infection. I am very thankful to him and his staff.
Excellent physician. Well worth spending time in his office. He is very personable and extremely well respected and I would recommend him highly.
Firt off you have to pay for parking! The office is always very clean and organized. If you schedule an appointment in the morning for get about it. I waited over an hour to two hours multiple times for my appointment. Then Dr Bowmen seems rushed and only sees me 5 - 10 min at the most. His staff is rude. Especially Ashley is very rude to patients as well to me. If you hate your job please do yourself a favor and quit. Ava at the front desk secretary rarely picks up the phone. I am currently looking for a new eye dr.
Excellent, caring eye doctor. Very happy with results of cataract surgery he did.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
