List of Turtle Creek Dental Associates's Reviews
My appointment in December was cancelled either the day before or the same day. Either way it was last minute and so they put me on a waiting list list. The options they gave me were for the day of only, which obviously didn’t work. I showed up to my appointment today for a teeth cleaning and I kindly asked for no x-rays because I’ve had a lot of x-ray exposure this year due to recent health issues. They told me they had to refuse to see me and to reschedule when I’m comfortable taking another x-ray. It’s ridiculous you can’t get a teeth cleaning without a healthy dose if ionizing radiation. Due to the last minute cancellation and weak attempt to schedule me same day from the wait list, I’d recommend not seeing this dental group. I kindly asked for no x-ray and it’s crazy how it’s a requirement of the group to get a dose of ionizing radiation when you’ve cumulatively had lots of exposure prior too. It’s not like I’m a kook who’s against X-rays, I’m simply in a situation that I’m trying to navigate and these guys wasted my time back to back to back. Recommend looking for someone else.
Best visit ever! From the welcome from the front office to the treatment plan and cleaning it was 10/10. Just what I was looking for as nervous as I was.
The moment you tell them you need to think about the quote they gave you (which was outrageously expensive), they stop smiling and acting like they want you to leave asap and in fact rushing you out of the side door. Also, be careful about the insurance they charge. They charged over half of my dental payout for an examination, xray and stuff, no medical procedures and charged like $300 to $400 dollars. It was couple of years ago tho but definitely felt overcharged when I saw the statement. The charges were not communicated before I walked into the room.
The service is great, and they are so polite! I love how Tanya and Dr Borel discuss everything with me that is involved in my visit. It make me very comfortable in getting procedures done.
Missed my dental hygienist’s name because I was filled with my usual pre-cleaning dread but quickly realized that was misplaced. She did an excellent job explaining what I should expect and was proactive with numbing gel, two factors that made all the difference in my experience. Would absolutely recommend them for cleaning as well as dental surgery.
Great and friendly staff as soon as I walked in! Got me in an emergency and helped me so much!
I rarely take the time to leave reviews, but I wanted to make an exception for Tanya, the dental hygienist who provided my recent cleaning. She was exceptionally attentive, thorough, and professional throughout the appointment. Her careful approach and genuine care made this one of the most comfortable and effective cleanings I have ever experienced. I highly recommend Tanya and the practice to anyone seeking high-quality dental care.
Dr. A is the best and his hygienist Faith was amazing too! Going to the dentist can be scary, but Turtle Creek Dental Associates makes it a good experience!
Dr. Avendanio and his team are top notch. I am impressed each time I have had an appointment with the professionalism and thoroughness of the doctor and his staff. Thank you so much!
I’m deeply disappointed with this dental office. I was a patient here for about three years and had no issues until early 2026, when I needed to transfer to a new dentist. Despite multiple phone calls and emails, this office has refused to provide my complete dental records. They have only sent my X-rays and are withholding the rest of my records, including clinical notes, treatment history, and procedure documentation, unless I pay $100. Under federal law, patients have a clear right of access to their complete medical and dental records. The HIPAA Privacy Rule (45 CFR § 164.524) allows providers to charge only reasonable, cost-based fees, limited to actual copying costs (such as paper, electronic media, or postage). Providers may not charge retrieval fees or inflated flat fees, and fees intended to discourage access are explicitly prohibited. Charging $100 simply to release routine dental records far exceeds what is legally considered “reasonable” and is not compliant with federal law. Dental records are not limited to X-rays — they also include notes, diagnoses, treatment plans, and referrals, all of which a patient is entitled to receive. What I find most unacceptable is not just the refusal to provide my full records, but the lack of clear communication and the attempt to overcharge for information that legally belongs to the patient. I have filed a complaint with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners and will pursue additional remedies if necessary. Based on this experience, I would strongly caution others: this is how communication and record access are handled once you leave this practice.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
