Texas Pain Institute's Online Review Report Card

I loved Dr. Alvarado, but the staff is horrible. I see Dr. Aggawald now and he is very nice but has called in sick on my appointment day. Leaving me without pain medication. I do not see how this ok. I have been on pain medication for 6 years and 10 back surgeries. My last one was 2 months ago.

Absolutely disgraceful. This place is a complete failure when it comes to basic communication and patient care. As countless other reviews have stated, they NEVER answer their phones. Not once. Not ever. It’s nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone. On top of that, if you're unfortunate enough to have an appointment on a Friday, they WILL NOT send your prescription to the pharmacy until Monday. That’s right, they leave patients stranded all weekend without critical medication. If you’re depending on timely access to your prescriptions, look elsewhere. This level of negligence is dangerous and unacceptable. I’ll be reporting them to the appropriate medical boards and licensing authorities. Avoid this place at all costs.

appointments constantly backed up. from morning to evening expect to wait more than an hour.

I had a good experience until recently. I told the nurse every month that i was two or three days early every month because my pain sometimes resists my medication but this last visit I was accused of mishandling my medicine and threatened in an accusatory manner and my med was decreased. It took me awhile for it to sink in that it appeared that I was abusing my prescription although I always was honest. I’ve been on the same dose for over six years and now I’m worse. I was in pain and hurting and my bp shot up to 244/180 whereupon I spent three days in the hospital. I’m very very disappointed with my treatment.

The office staff are lovely and always so friendly.

If I could give less than a 1 star I would. I went to Dr A for about 5 years and then they hired Christopher Humphrey. From the moment I met him he was argumentative told me that I looked “worried” without even introducing himself. Talks down to women. He seems to be a very very unhappy person. Warning - this PA will make sure that you are no longer able to see a pain management doctor again. Be aware and stay away from Christopher Humphrey. They will make up lies saying that your urine test are negative so they can no longer treat you. He has no concern or care about an individual being in chronic pain.

Been Terrible since Dr.Alverado left. Whoever answers the phones,should be fired.They never Answer the phone.Ive left 25 messages.No call back.Very un professional.Trying to make my appointment.Been with them for years.This is the worst Customer Service Ive ever exsperienced. My back is tore up My kneescarecout,my roter cuffs blown..CKD 4. No call back.

I have been going to the Texas Pain Institute for 3 years now. My first Doctor was Dr. Alvarado, he left for Arizona. Although Dr. Alvarado was my first pain doctor that really helped me when he left Dr. Aggrawal (the head doctor became my new pain advisor and pain doctor.) I was nervous at first, now he has also become one of my favorite pain doctors. (I have had pain doctors since 2011) I would recommend Texas Pain Institute. New update: September 9, 2024 — this office was one of the best! Now trying to get an appointment in Denton is like pulling teeth. Also, there has been a problem with my prior authorization of medicine (That I had for years) and cannot get a hold of anyone to call us back or help us. I assume the only way to get help is to go to whatever location the office people are that day. I don’t know what to do anymore. The government rulings about chronic pain have become the maze of mazes.

A very responsive doctor! I have been able to share concerns, as well as what’s been working, and we come up with mutually agreed treatments.
