I don't recommend this place. My dad was there for a week or two and complained about the staff mistreating him. My dad was not completely there mentally so it was hard to tell, but after repeat complaints by him there seemed to be something to it. But most concerning is that my dad had his cell phone with him and it suddenly went missing one day. My dad was bed ridden. He couldn't even get out to go to the bathroom by himself. Yet his phone somehow disappeared. The facility would not take any responsibility for it. I escalated it to their CEO and it still got denied. They said it may have gotten thrown in with their sheet laundry service, but would not do anything about it. My dad had to go back to the hospital for a while and when he was released again to rehab refused to go back to Select because of how they treated him. He ended up going to a place down the road in Denton and he was much happier there. I do not recommend Select at all.

In may, my mom was at a place we were not satisfied with. @advancerehabtrusthomehealth recommended Select. Select was awesome, got her back on her feet after hip problems and got her moving around very quickly! When my step dad needed rehab, we immediately said Select. He is doing awesome and going home tomorrow. They are caring and very thorough ..love the attention to detail, and their concern.A+++
I received excellent care. They didn't leave me waiting. Everyone treated me with respect. I highly recommend this medical center.
SELECT REHAB was not the place for my father. They did pretty much nothing for him from what I can gather seeing my father before and after he went in.He went in after having a full knee replacement and then was discharged TOO EARLY the first time so he had to go back 3 days after returning home. Once again he came out of the facility 2 weeks later with ZERO progress or strength gains and ZERO explanation as to WHY he was being discharged. He smelled as if he hadn't been bathed in a week and there was absolutely NO CONTACT from any attending physician the ENTIRE TIME he was at the facility. There was a MAJOR lack of continuity in care and follow-up. There was never ANY charting or accounting in any form presented to us as to the progress of his rehab while he was there. Nothing. We never received any information upon the 2nd discharge of concerns they SHOULD have had regarding his lack of motor skills and strength, nothing. He was supposed to be on CPAP and the part-time respiratory therapists did nothing to try to assist in expediting the orders they needed to get it for him while he was there.... they didn't care, it was ON US, my mom and I, to follow up and get these orders to them which is ridiculous... FOR TWO WEEKS! Not a single comment from any doctor upon release, they just handed my mother some discharge paperwork and said good luck and wheeled him out to the car.He has now fallen twice in the 2 days back at the house because of his lack of strength in his lower extremities. If he breaks his other leg, God forbid, it will be over for him. He's 76 years old and dealing with weight issues as well as severe sleep apnea and congestive heart failure.I would highly recommend you search for other care facilities if your loved one needs more extensive care. This is NOT the facility for someone who needs concentrated, focused and targeted care for sure.
I was lying in bed this morning and I was thinking about the time that I spent in Select Rehabilitation Hospital. I don’t really have the words to express my gratitude for the way my wife and I were treated when I was a patient. You made it possible for my wife to stay with me each night and eat all of her meals with me and attend most of my activities with me. This experience brought us closer together than we had ever been before. We still enjoy that feeling. We enjoyed the few times we were able to attend the support group meetings also. Although we love living in the elderly community where we are now, we miss the time spent with the staff at Select.
They are very un professional under staffed.
I am going to describe what happened to us at Select Rehab because every misery that my husband had experienced was a result of what happened there. My husband was transferred to Select Rehab for inpatient rehabilitation after tracheostomy surgery at Presbyterian Hospital, Denton and Dr. Anastase became his attending physician. Since my husband just had tracheostomy, his trach tie should’ve been checked every day religiously and neck inspected. But Dr. Anastase and his nurses left my husband’s neck and trach tie unchecked for 10 days after his was transferred. And when they finally bothered to look, they found a red disgusting erosion and that erosion very fast made a hole in his neck. Dr. Anastase’s explanation was “...given the patient’s anatomy and multiple issues the area was somewhat difficult to access...” What? He is actually admitting they knew “patient’s anatomy”, knew patient’s history and still left his neck unchecked for 10 days, only because it was “difficult” to access? They are the doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, it’s their job TO access! So, they started to treat the erosion on the neck. All over sudden, the area was NOT so difficult to access once they realized the mess they were in. But the damage has been done. The bacteria travelled into the wound, caused severe infection, collarbone/facial swelling, second wound with the dead tissue in it and he was put on heavy IV antibiotics. They didn’t take him to the ER for proper wound excision and draining, but slapped the gloves on and did it right at the Rehab. Luckily, I was there and took pictures. Their explanation to that was “...due to the area being weakened from previous injuries, this was an opportunistic wound”. There is no such thing! Why didn’t it happen during 6 years even once, or several days before the Rehab with the same “previous injuries”? Why now, under the Select Rehab’s care? The only opportunistic thing here is Select’s neglect. We were supposed to be discharged in a few days, but instead, my husband was sent back to the ER with the severe neck bleeding. After blood transfusions and scans they found mycotic aneurysm (infected aneurysm) which is a dilation of an artery due to damage of the wall by an infection. The infection penetrated his collarbone tissue so deep that it had eaten at the carotid wall making it bleed. And they dared to roll it all on my husband and his history, making it his fault? Dr. Anastase is incompetent, unethical, cocky and disrespectful. When I read his notes and let other people read them, everyone was livid. Badmouthing my husband saying “...the patient was intense, extremely involved and at times overbearing with care, tried to dictate care...” who trashes out a patient like that? Did he think that my husband was going to sit back and watch, wait for them to destroy him even more? What kind of doctor badmouths his patient’s spouse by saying “...the wife is quiet a barrier and made it difficult to provide care...”? An they were making great money on my husband’s stay, all while they were damaging him physically and saying trash about us. I keep thinking if we had chosen a different Rehab at a bigger hospital, the doctors would've been more prominent and more talented, they would’ve done their jobs properly. But we made a grave mistake by choosing a wrong Rehab and we paid dearly for that. By now our friends, family, clients and colleagues know what Select did and they are using their own network to spread awareness. I hear every day that Dr. Anastase and Select Rehab should be punished and held accountable for the neglect. No matter how badly I wanted justice, being slippery, they squeezed out of responsibility, they are slippery. The nightmares I have to this day, their faces got engraved in my memory. I hope Karma visits those who failed my husband very soon. And one day we will meet at the gates of hell. Only when their lives get as destroyed as ours, only then will I sleep well, eye for an eye.
I can't say enough good things about Select. I just went through physical therapy for my back and they did wonders for me. They also run a wonderful support group for Parkinson's patients as well as other afflictions. Very caring staff.
Great place for rehab ..great prices to eat for family. Food for patient pretty drab unless you like chicken....for EVERY MEAL.
Select rehabilitation has been amazing for my mom. Everyone at select rehabilitation has been very nice and very helpful. My mom has been to different facilities and has come out worse than when she went it. If you really want to get better select rehabilitation is the place to go.
I recently spent two weeks at Select Rehab following open heart surgery. It was such a beneficial time; all the staff were focused on my improvement. Therapists were so focused on my progress. I was so thankful for the positive support I received.
This is an amazing hospital with awesome staff!! The therapists are the best around and the therapy departments are absolutely wonderful. As a stroke survivor, I could not have been admitted to a better place. The staff is very encouraging and positive and caring! I was very blessed to have received my care here. Lynne Prater
My son was admitted inpatient at Select Rehab after his 2nd brain surgery for 2 weeks. I recommend Select Rehab for any rehabilitative services!!! Dr. Anastase, Dr. Latif, Miche - PT, Brittany - OT and Jeff - ST went above and beyond our expectations. The team focused on developing appropriate protocol that would allow him to return to work as a Fireman/Paramedic. He was encouraged through the tough times with kindness and professionalism, which allowed the recovery process to be a success. The outpatient Day Neuro Program strengthened his skills daily as he recovered. Select Rehab will forever be a 5 STAR facility!!!

Amazing people to work with. Everyone is so friendly and the place is so clean and organize.
Today was a big day! Our son Brandon, who is only 37 years old, graduated from Rehab. After a heart attack and two strokes on January 6, 2018, he suffered left side weakness, vision loss and memory loss. Thanks to the amazing therapist and staff at Select Rehab he has made a remarkable recovery. It was fascinating watching the therapist working with him everyday designing a program that was specific for his needs. I can’t say enough good things about the wonderful people that work here. A huge thank you to everyone involved in Brandon’s recovery. I highly recommend this place if you are searching for a Rehab Hospital for your loved ones.
