Saw actual Dr. once during whole process. Recovery was not what I was told it would be before the surgery. Some staff are rude.
Dr Badylak did a great job of my hip replacement surgery. His staff was always responsive to my concerns and questions and were wonderful to work with. If ever needed again I will definitely be back.
I waited 45 minutes in the waiting room for a post operation distal tendon rupture checkup before I walked out without seeing the Dr. Totally ridiculous! I received a call one hour and thirty minutes later saying they were ready to see me, I was already back at my office. They then had the audacity to ask if I would like to reschedule, I replied, I don't think so. I don't make my clients wait excessive time and I wont either. The scheduler needs to be replaced. The Dr was awesome.
Jan 2020 I got into a really bad accident. I was care flighted to a city hospital where Dr. Badylak accepted me as a patient. This is actually the first time I’ve written about this incident on a public forum. I thought it would be best to take this time to thank Dr. Badylak and his team for saving my life again. Even though this whole thing has been a process, the trajectory of my healing may not have even been possible without the incredible skill of Dr. Badylak. Due to the extent of my injuries, I had to have multiple procedures performed. During my hospitalization, I was constantly told how lucky I was to have him as a surgeon by the nursing staff and I never forgot it. Prior to the accident, I worked in the ICU, so I was kind of on edge throughout all of this. But every interaction I had with Dr. Badylak made me feel better, safer, and prepared for what was coming next. He is kind, thoughtful, and one of the best orthopedic surgeons out there. I will forever be thankful to him for giving me the opportunity to walk again and to even have the possibility to (one day soon) have my life back again. Thank you.
Dr. John Badylak is my hero! I shattered, and I mean shattered, my lower knee. He rebuild the knee and the geometry appears flawless. Along the way he has been very patient and extremely encouraging. Six months later I was doing squats and deadlifts at the gym. He is not only a very skilled surgeon but he also makes many personal sacrifices for his patients. He's is both a truly skilled and caring surgeon.
Dr. Badylak has done a few surgeries and a skin graft on my foot. Hes amazing and so nice and compassionate. My foot would not have healed if not for him.
I was very pleased with Dr. Badylak and his entire office staff. they were helpful and professional.
Dr. Badylak did my shoulder surgery 6 years ago in Abilene Tx and he is a good surgeon and he also took care of my broken left wrist and a broken left thumb.
I saw Dr. Badylak, less than two weeks after tearing my ACL. He was in the room no more than 10 minutes. He came in with no papers in hand and didn't bother looking over my MRI with me. I would have never even seen my MRI if I hadn't asked the radiologist for the disk. He simply regurgitated what the radiologist's report said, did a quick stability test on my knee, and told me that I needed surgery. He suggested that I get the surgery soon without even refering me to anyone for pre-op PT. In a panic, I scheduled the surgery. But, after I calmed down, did some research, joined a few FB support groups for both surgical and non-surgical ACL recovery, and then reflected on everything, I realized how unprofessional Dr. Badylak had been and how premature scheduling surgery was for me. So, I went with my gut and CANCELLED the surgery (originally scheduled for 07/27/2020).It has now been almost a month since my injury. I just started doing PT exercises this week and just five days in I can already walk with the minor support of a walker. I have regained 100% range of motion and almost full hyperextension of my knee! I never imagined that I could progress that quickly without surgery, but here I am! I'm getting stronger every day and am aiming to recover fully without surgery. Contrary to what mainstream medicine would have you believe, there are so many cases of people fully recovering from complete ACL tears without ever going under the knife! If you decide to have surgery, I that is a completely valid choice. But, please DO NOT LET DR. BADYLAK DO YOUR SURGERY! Go to a surgeon who will at the very least take the time to learn about your specific injury and refer you to pre-op PT, as that is supposed to be standard. Never rush into surgery. Let your body heal naturally first and then reassess.
Great doctor and friendly staff!
Had a meniscus repair done with Dr. Badylak. Procedure was explained to me in detail, office staff scheduled without difficulty, surgery went without issue. Would recommend. Office wait time was a little longer than normal, but would expect this due to his bed side manner.
Great doctor, he did my knee replacement and I'm very happy with the results.
The staff is very professional and caring , make me feel safe and care at all times 🙏
Having grown up with family in the medical field, I can say with a certain amount of experience that Texas Bone & Joint is one of the most professional medical teams I've been around. First class and caring to a fault. I knew EXACTLY what was happening at every turn. Amazing physician, nurses and assistants.
The best of the best. Patient thoro takes time to answers questions
Dr Badylak is a great doctor. I developed trigger thumbs during my pregnancy. After having the baby, and the symptom not going away, the doctor's office scheduled me fairly fast. I got my surgery on both thumbs done. The surgery and healing process was a breeze. He explained everything to me and told me what I can and can't do post op. He also addressed all of my concerns. As a plus, Dr Badylak has a great personality!
Dr. Badylak did a total knee replacement in October. I healed quickly with no complications so he just did my other knee in December. He is amazing, caring and thoughtful. Very skilled.
Dr Badylak is a very accomplished Orthopedist. He has performed an emergency radial head prosthetic repair and a non-emergency total knee replacement. I am a 50 year old man (kid!) and have just completed a cross continent trek over the continental divide and through the jungles of Costa Rica on that knee, only 9 months post operation. It performed flawlessly with zero issues. Thanks to his skills in the operating room, I was able to realize a life long dream hike. As a post-script, his staff are top notch as well making a very well rounded team. I highly recommend!
Dr Badylak performed a knee replacement on me in March, 2016, in Abilene, Texas. For 3 years I have had issues but thought that was just the result of having a knee replacement. I reached the point at times where I couldn’t walk. I finally had it checked and both rods going into the bones were loose. I have the MRI with contrast to verify this. I had a knee revision this past Wednesday to repair my knee. Needless to say, I am not happy with Dr. Badylak and do not recommend him.
Dr. Badylak recently treated my 11 year old daughter after she broke her ankle. This was her first broken bone so I was very anxious. Texas Bone & Joint got her in to be seen very quickly, and I cannot say enough about Dr. Badylak and his PA, Ruston Asfar. They gave excellent care to my daughter and took the time to explain everything to me and make me feel at ease. I’m happy to say my daughter is well on her way to recovery and I can’t thank Dr. Badylak enough!
