Lynn Speaks's Online Review Report Card

I scheduled an appointment with this office two weeks in advance and explained at the time that I was dealing with medical issues. The office accepted the appointment and continued sending me appointment reminders. When I arrived on July 15, I was told that Dr. Speaks is retiring and is no longer accepting new patients. No one contacted me beforehand to explain this or cancel the appointment. I was then told the next available appointment with another provider would not be until October. This was extremely frustrating and upsetting, especially since the office had two weeks to notify me and knew I was seeking care for ongoing medical concerns. The lack of communication and consideration for a patient’s time and health was unacceptable. I hope the office improves its scheduling and communication procedures so this does not happen to someone else.

Don't Waste Your Time I was seen at this practice a few years back and was scheduled again for this month. Now, they only take patients with insurance and, instead of honoring appointments that were already scheduled for self-pay patients, they cancelled them. According to Texas Health headquarters, self-pay patients (people without the benefit of insurance) get a 50% discount but they must pay the full balance up front. The HQ also said that the decision is made by the individual practices. I wonder why this practice ditched the self-pay patients? Does this new policy have anything to do with profits?

Hello! If you do not have in$urance and are $elf-pay, do not bother trying to get an appointment at thi$ place. They canceled tho$e of u$ who were already $cheduled.

You will not find a better Dr!! Dr. Speaks is the only Dr I will go to. She delivered both of my children. She is very compassionate & always willing to listen to your concerns. I have been seeing her for almost 16 years. I think I have been to 3 different clinics following her throughout the years. I drive an hour to see her because it is worth the peace of mind that I am going to someone so knowledgeable & kind. She is THE BEST!!

I won't go back I've been a patient of the practice Dr. Speaks works for for 7 years but my regular obg left & her nurse practitioner I switched too couldn't give me a specific prescription, so I saw Dr. Speaks. It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a doctor in my 45 yrs. I did not feel heard, I did not feel seen, I did not feel comfortable being honest with her about what was medically bothering me. Halfway through the apt I burst into tears at which point she said she would not continue my well visit and I would need to come back a different day. It was like I was being punished for being honest abt what was medically bothering me. I have gone through 3 pregnancies at this practice. I had an amazing relationship with my prior obg & her nurse practitioner. I have never had a doctor make me feel so small & like I'm a burden on them & their time as Dr. Speaks did. If you are a woman going through peri-menopause & don't want to be dismissed, Dr. Speaks is not a safe place.

Dr. Speaks was very knowledgeable. She CARED to find the root cause of my condition and explained things very well. If it were not for her ability to care for me as an individual I would have never known about my condition, and the treatment that was so commonly prescribed would have done more harm to my body. She is a true hero and I will forever be thankful and grateful I crossed paths with her
