List of Texas Medical Diagnostic's Reviews
Where to start? So far, it's been three months since beginning my journey toward treatment for sleep apnea, To say the least, it has been anything but a good experience. Just to begin...three months in and I have yet to speak or hear from with a doctor ( I was given a name but am not certain that he actually exists). After receiving the referral from my doctor it took TMD two weeks to attempt to contact me. When we finally did make contact the scheduling staff (one person in particular) was impatient, extremely rude and very unpleasant. As a customer, I have never been treated with such disrespect. The technicians at both sleep studies were great - too bad everyone else involved in the process could not be as professional and easy to deal with. I was told that my test results showed my sleep apnea to be severe and that treatment should begin ASAP. After another two weeks of dealing with scheduling team, the second test was confirmed. That was five weeks ago. A week following the second test I received an email stating that an order had been placed with Clearview Medical for my equipment (the experience with Clearview is another very frustrating chapter in this excruciating experience). So, three months after speaking with my doctor about a sleep study I still do not have a CPAP machine nor do I know when I might receive one. I am now completely convinced that TMD is much more interested in getting dollars from insurance companies than in providing patient care and treatment. Based on my experience, should your doctor recommend Texas Medical Diagnostics for your sleep study you should not just request, but DEMAND another referral. I certainly wish I had read referrals and investigated before beginning this ordeal.
It appears the owner likes to come on here and harass people who leave honest reviews instead of taking accountability for their terrible service. I left detailed feedback about how I could not reach a human to schedule or confirm appointments and their response was "you should have answered your phone." Well, in the initial email, there were two phone numbers provided. The instructions said "save these numbers in case our office calls you." I did that. And the ONE time they did call, it came from a completely different number and was automatically flagged as spam. So, maybe, do better? Maybe listen to feedback people are giving you and use that to enhance a customer experience? Probably won't happen. 0 stars.
Vehicles are in the driveway but the door is locked and no one will answer to assist you
This was an absolutely miserable experience. My insurance would not approve a sleep study at the facility but did approve an at home sleep study. The equipment was sent to a random address in Fort Worth. When I realized this from the delivery notification I called the facility. When I tried to explain that I did not receive the device they responded by telling me it was my problem. It took 4 business days to get them to help me find a solution. They would not refund my money. They would not help me find a resolution to the problem. Eventually I was able to drive to their facility and get a device to do the sleep study. But this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with any medical practice.
How this institution has such a high rating is beyond me. Scheduling and getting in tough with a person is an absolute nightmare. No one answers at the numbers provided and they do not return calls. When scheduling our sleep study the women we spoke with kept telling us "I'll call you back in five minutes" and never called back. I had to email the PA that did our intake just to have someone confirm our appointment! Our sleep tech was phenomenal and when I expressed concerns was told "yes, we get told this all the time." Now, trying to schedule our follow up to get the results of the sleep study we are having the same issues. Horrible communication through email, no one is answering on the phone. They scheduled me for an appointment no one is available for, but I can't get a hold of a real person to schedule. This is insane! I will never recommend this clinic and will actively speak against it any time I am available. What an absolute hassle.
Once your doctor refers you to them they look on you like a cash cow. Expect to pay "convenience fees," not for your convenience but just because they know they can force you to pay in order to get the medical care you need. Imagine if doctors and hospitals and pharmacies, in addition to getting copays and deductibles from you and payments from your insurance company could just charge you as much more as they think they can get away with and call it "a convennce fee." This is what this company does. They excel at ripping people off. One wonders how well they do at the medical diagnostics they claim to offer.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They sent me a disposable unit, and I was unable to complete the 2 test because of medical reasons. They sent no information about returning it or any return envelope. They first called and told me I needed to complete the test because someone else could use the unit. I couldn't. Then they sent a letter and told me they filed $5000 felony theft charges on me for the device. I drove the disposable unit to their office in Ft. Worth and they refused to take it back because it is a disposable unit that they can not reuse. REFUSE TO BE REFERRED HERE!!! THEY ARE RUDE LIARS!!!
Do not go here!! I was supposed to have a sleep study here but the reviews of the facility show it is very dirty and in a very unsafe location. They sent me a home sleep study without my request and I tried completing it. Only one of the two nights was recorded. Stacy Alvarado-Smith told me it was due to Bluetooth and I would need to turn off all Bluetooth devices in my home. I said my refrigerator, dishwasher, air conditioner, computers, laptops, xbox and all cell phones. She said yes. This is August in Texas!! Saturday, November 15th, I received a letter addressed to no one saying they were filing felony charges against me for not returning the device. The instructions that came with the device say keep the device for later use. Do not return. I called Monday, November 17th and spoke to Stacy Alvarado-Smith again. She stated they would not accept the device back and the only way to not be charged with a felony was to take the test. I am appalled by a company that would blackmail a patient to take a test. I am getting a lawyer and reported them to Medicare for fraud. Obviously they can't bill unless I take the test. I beg you, please do not use this place for any reason!!! I just want to return the test machine. I expected the nonsensical response from Stacy. She cannot force me to take the test!!! Again, do not go here!
THIS PLACE SEEMS SHADY!!! Everything they do is to maximize their revenue!!! You will never see the Dr - they only do video appointments with a only a giggly PA - who made one misrepresentation after another: 1, tells me a 10 year CPAP prescription is normal and that's what they do, Tells me since this is just a 10 year follow up test, and my hectic schedule, they will do the complete test in one night as compared to two, tells me we will visit again to go over the results, and discuss course of action!. NOT ONE her representations was true. It was only after i had my DME call to get my prescription did they send me a copy of it, My test was done over two nights, My prescription is only good for a year and i need to pay $350.00 annually if/when i need it renewed!! and to top it off, the PA uses GMAIL email account which should have been a red flag to begin with.
My initial experience with Texas Medical Diagnostics related to scheduling and billing over the phone is terrible. I have been trying to schedule an appointment with Texas Medical Diagnostics, and it has taken over 1 week of back and forth. I send emails with no response, but they keep emailing and texting me about scheduling, almost to the point of spamming. When they call, they don't leave voicemails, or are unclear. I finally got a hold of their front desk and many of them have less than pleasant attitudes related to this back and forth. Bertha, the scheduler, was not the most pleasant to deal with, and was giving a hassle about payment. I was told I had to prepay for my sleep study, in order to hold my appointment. I am very disappointed at their procedures and billing practices, and I would be cautious working with a provider with these practices. This review is subject to change after my experience of my sleep study.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
