List of Todd E Young's Reviews
Left him when I got tired of him pushing for doing a biopsy long before I felt it was justified, based on my PSA and symptoms (or lack thereof). Talked me into getting a urine test which supposedly indicated my genetic predisposition for prostate cancer...hardly even discussed the results with me, and I was stuck with a humongous bill for the test, which was not covered by insurance. Office staff, also, with the exception of one or two, is pretty curt and grumpy.
I hate bad-mouthing physicians and/or his staff, but in Dr. Young's case, I'll make an exception. I'd been seeing him for a few years mainly for routine checkups, and every visit I had the "feeling" he was promoting some test or procedure primarily to make money. Regarding the most recent one he urged me to have, when the results came back he hardly mentioned it, and I received a bill for $795. Everyone in the office seems dour and hacked-off except the scheduler, and I have zero confidence he's doing what's best for me, the patient, and not merely his bank account.
Mr. Young is nothing but a used car salesman. Only interested in your money. Don't blame the staff for how they treat you because they are following his direction. If you complain about the disrespectful way you are treated Mr. Young will drop you give you a referral you to a Doc he dislikes and knows will never accept his referral. He dropped me because I didn't select the expensive surgery. I was not worth his time if he could not charge me for surgery. The other Docs in the clinic are just like him. RUN DO WALK AWAY FROM THIS MONEY TRAP!
Been with Dr. Young off and on for a couple of years, and am now about to ditch him for good. He comes across as constantly money-hungry, wants to do this test and that test; started talking about doing a biopsy when my psa reached 4.0 (not especially worrisome for my age); suggested most recently I take a genetic test for the predictability of prostate cancer, not once mentioning it wouldn't be covered by insurance (got a bill today for $795); the front desk staff ranges from curt to disagreeable, blood work technician not much better. The only agreeable persons I've encountered in the office are Dr. Young's current PA and a (the) woman who handles appointments. My recommendation? Find someone else.
Very caring, ask questions, understands your health issues.
No help. Go somewhere else.
I was referred to Dr Young by my doctor in Glen Rose as I had some possible symptoms of prostate cancer. I made it VERY clear that I did not have medical insurance and that I needed to know the total costs involved before I underwent ANY treatment whatsoever. This was also pointed out to the administrative staff at the Texas Center for Urology at the Fort Worth office/Surgery. I was never informed that I would be charged $1713.00 for a tissue examination by a Pathologist and an Immunohisto antibody slide. I was hit with a bill from Inform Diagnostics some 2 months after my Biopsy. Do not believe a word that the staff tell you about the costs involved in having treatment here and make sure that you get a FULL breakdown of the costs involved BEFORE you undergo ANY treatment if you do not have Health Insurance. They are nothing short of being deceitful.
Don't go there...waste of time and money....
Front Desk Customer Service to include Management is horrible, unfriendly, rude and generally not helpful PA's/Dr Young not bad, but far from impressive and not nearly enough to deal with the consistently Bad Customer Service
Wasted about 8 months on this doctor, would never recommend him. First 3 or 4 times I went, was only able to see a PA, did some PSA tests and consultations. Finally saw the doctor and a biopsy was suggested, which was performed by a tech. Turns out I had stage1 prostate cancer, which was very small, they wanted to do an in office procedure, which had a 444$ copay, the best treatment for BPH doesn't even cost that much in a hospital. This procedure was to be done by a tech, because they told me that the doctor doesn't perform procedures, they could have informed me of that during my initial visit, and I could have found a doctor to prepare me for my cancer treatment within weeks. When I go to a doctor, I go for the doctor's expertise and to have him do surgical procedures, still can't help but think he does procedures. My cancer progressed to stage 2, they seemed to be more concerned about getting the money up front than anything, vere very unsatisfied experience!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
