Five years ago Dr. Stauffer performed a routine colonoscopy. Three days later I found myself in an ambulance being taken to an ER, in extreme pain. The exploratory surgery found acute peritonitis, caused by a large tear in my colon, which had necrosed (died). I had part of my colon removed, and had a colostomy attached. Four months later, I had to return for major surgery to have the colostomy removed, and try to return to a normal life. My surgeon contacted Dr. Stafford, and he said he wasn’t aware of any problems. I NEVER heard from him or any staff to ask of my condition, or offer any explanation. I’m not putting blame on anyone or anything, I’m sharing my experience. This took place in the Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

Dr Jay Stauffer has done an amazing work on my husband and I am very thankful fo him saving my husbands life 5 years ago and the continued medical work he does for us. Dr. Stauffer is an excellent doctor. He saved me in November 2018 from a stomach bleed from a Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor. He stopped the bleeding and in March removed the tumor. He has helped restore my health.

I will be having my 3rd surgery by Dr. Stauffer tomorrow morning. He is my surgeon and I want no other. He is gentle, he is kind and he leaves nothing out. He is extremely informative. I trust him, he is the best.
