FIVE STARS AREN'T ENOUGH! There are doctors who are phenomenal doctors. There aren't many that embody being a phenomenal doctor, and an all-around great person. Dr. Hopkins is not only an amazing surgeon, he's also a great man. I met with Dr. Hopkins after been tossed aside by others. Dr. Hopkins listened. Dr. Hopkins was empathetic to my concerns. Dr. Hopkins explained. Dr. Hopkins cared. Dr. Hopkins is prompt. Dr. Hopkins believes in quality care. Dr. Hopkins is simply unmatched. HE IS AN AMAZING DOCTOR. If you are looking for a doctor that embodies all things GREAT, Eldon Hopkins, MD would be your best choice. Had I not been instructed to visit Dr. Hopkins, who knows what my fate would have been. I was advised that I didn't have 5 months left, with my left leg. I had been dealing with an unknown bacterium since January, that no one took seriously, until fate led me to Eldon Hopkins, MD. Had it not been for Dr. Hopkins, I would still be walking around with an unknown bacterial infection. A bacterium that could have only been contracted during my total knee replacement. I would still be walking around with a broken femur. I would still be walking around with a botched total knee replacement, where the impant was put in sideways. Dr. Hopkins is/was my savings grace. Where I had begun to lose hope, Dr. Hopkins helped to restore my lost hope. Where my faith had faded, Dr. Hopkins helped to restore my faith back. I was ready to give up on being healed and whoIe. I didn't think better was in the cards for me. I had been living with 24-hour pain. NOT ANYMORE! I thank God for this divine alignment. I have a long road ahead. However, I am now full of confidence. I know I am in the right hands. I am safe with Eldon Hopkins, MD. Dr. Hopkins, THANK YOU for saving my life and my leg!

Dr. Hopkins goes way beyond the normal surgeon experience by fully engaging the patient, conveying sincere empathy and compassion and sharing his vast knowledge and experience. The term brilliant surgeon isn't enough to explain his skill and talent. After a horribly botched total knee replacement by another surgeon I made my way thankfully to Dr. Hopkins for revision. To begin, Dr. Hopkins spent more time reviewing my situation and discussing it with me than other doctors might even consider and he deployed his considerable problem solving skills to addressing my needs. The surgery was a resounding success, all former mistakes by others were corrected and everything was even improved. Throughout the entire process, including follow up after the surgery I felt a level of care and attention that is rarely found in the medical community. Why other better known surgeons in Dallas get more business even while doing a terrible job and the entire universe isn't plugged in to Dr. Hopkins, I do not know. He should be at the forefront for anyone looking for original knee replacement surgery first and is the king of revision. I would never consider any other orthopedic surgeon. Top, top, top of the line. As if that weren't enough, his entire staff is spectacular. A++ and 5 star all the way!

Most ethical, empathetic, compassionate, knowledgeable, highly skilled surgeon! I have had more than my share of surgeries and had a botched total knee replacement by another surgeon that Dr. Hopkins fixed and even made better. He should be the first choice for all original knee surgery and is the king of revisions. His entire practice at Medical City Hip & Knee Specialists Frisco is 5 star. Excellent customer service, awesome staff, spectacular experience. I have relied on Healthgrades myself in the past so I know it is a valuable tool so I say this all in complete sincerity and honesty. Look no further if you're going to have any knee or hip surgery. Dr. Hopkins is the one and only choice.

After having several surgeries from an auto accident previously i visited Dr Hopkins. I had several questions and he was very quick to anger. His statement to me was “other Dr’s have no idea what they are doing, you can go back to them if you want. I am a level 4 and they are waaaay down here”. I explained i was just asking questions and Dr Hopkins stated “you can either listen to me or find another Dr who doesn’t know what they are doing”. Extremely arrogant, egotistical impossible to build a patient physician relationship with. Told me i needed an immediate full knee replacement and full hip replacement. After visiting two other orthopedic Dr’s in Frisco Tx Baylor my knee nor my hip needed to be replaced. Please take the extra time to find a good surgeon who is not so full of himself that he refuse’s to listen or answer your questions. Staff also rude and when records were requested from other Dr’s were told “They had an employee who must have misplaced them or threw them away”.

Dr Hospkins repaired my knee replacement done by another doctor in May. I was in severe pain and could not walk for 5 months. Now I am 2 weeks out from Dr Hospkins amazing skill of repairing with mild pain and most important of all able to walk

There aren't enough words in the dictionary to describe how awesome Dr. Hopkins and his entire staff are. I am a 46 y/o, former athlete who had both hips replaced. I had been living with pain for nearly 5 years and I made the difficult decision to replace hip joints at a young age. I wish I had done it sooner. I now jog, coach, swim, crossfit, hike, you name it. Dr. Hopkins is truly one of the best surgeons in his field and he has outstanding bedside manners. What I appreciate most about him is his honesty and transparency. The decision to have surgery was truly mine and he never tried to sell me on anything. I HIGHLY recommend him!

All of my visits to Dr Hopkins have been productive and very informative.

Dr. Hopkins has given my life back to me. I spent a year in pain. The morning of surgery I was in so much pain, but when I woke up, the first thing I noticed was that I no longer had the pulling sensation in my abdomen, and the knot was gone. I woke up in less pain than I had been in 8 hours earlier. I was able to walk in to his office for my 2 week check up and I was walking, with a walker, but I was actually able to walk! When the X-rays were taken to verify placement, I could pick up my leg and put my foot on the step on my own. It had been almost a year since I was able to do that. I haven’t even started therapy and I am already hitting goals. I 100% owe this to Dr. Hopkins. It was his knowledge and understanding that has made it able for me to get my life back.

Friendly, professional, prompt, and very knowledgeable.

Eldon diagnosed my hip pain based on an MRI, saying it was caused by a torn labrum. I was then referred for further treatment to a doctor in Dallas who does open hip surgery. Luckily he had a 5-month waiting list so I did some more research on my own. It turns out that many people with my symptoms have no torn labrum, and many people with a torn labrum have no pain. There is no proven correlation between a torn labrum and symptoms. So I looked for another opinion, and was correctly diagnosed with throchanteric bursitis which was resolved with a steroid shot and physical therapy to strengthen the glutes. Eldon never once spoke about GTPS (greather throchanteric pain syndrome) which is an umbrella name for lateral hip pain. Lateral hip pain can have multiple causes - bursitis, torn labrum, FAI impingement, and others. Never once did he perform a step-by-step analysis to determine which I had... it was just "oh you have torn labrum, go get open hip surgery to fix it." I'm very disappointed and would not recommend him.
