Tmi Sports Medicine And Orthopedic Surgery's Online Review Report Card

My experience was subpar at TMI Sports Medicine (Frisco location). I started my appointment with a 30 minute wait (very common wait time, no complaints). I was eventually called and seated in an exam room. No one introduced themselves to me, not the nurse or x-ray tech. About an hour passed between my appointment start time, getting the x-rays taken, and seeing the doctor (common amount of time). Dr. Robertson introduced himself to me and asked me to describe why I came to see him. From there he put my x-rays up on a screen and proceeded to discuss what he saw to a scribe (via an ear piece). He did not look at me or speak to me. He described me in the 3rd person. He then asked me to walk and observed. He then asked me to get on the examination table, which was a bit high and difficult to get onto. I suffered a knee cap dislocation, and my knee was still in pain. He did not offer me aid as I tried to get onto the table. He proceeded to do a physical examination of my knees. Bending both knees, wiggling the knee caps, and bracing the side of the knees, calling out measurements to his scribe. He would ask if I was experiencing pain or discomfort, I express that I was feeling pain. He would nod, still not looking me in the eyes, and continue to apply deep pressure. After the physical examination, he described what was wrong with my knee, and his suspicions of what else could be wrong (MRI needed to confirm). I inquired about the treatment plan, and he described the condition again and what surgery would look like. He explained in medical jargon in a way I could not follow. I indicated I did not understand the condition or treatment options, and he responded with “really, that’s the best you can do?”. I was shocked. I have never felt so unintelligent or embarrassed in a doctors appointment. He proceeded to explain the condition again, in the same medical jargon manner. The appointment ended with me holding in tears, with no more knowledge about my knee condition than when I arrived. I asked the front desk for copies of my x-rays, knowing I would get a second opinion. The front desk provided me with a disc saying the x-rays have been uploaded. They ether lied or are unable to perform their job. I took the disc to my new doctor, hoping to not have to pay for two sets of x-rays in a two week time frame. They disc was empty. When I called to share this with the billing team at TMI, they were unable to wipe away the x-ray fee or appointment fee as it had already been billed to insurance (billed at the end of my appointment). I am now in the grievance process. I do not recommend Dr. Robertson or TMI Sports.

Worst place to get treatment for fracture. They don’t even carry basic fracture sling. They don’t even prescribe pain killers and they don’t even take x-ray to treat patient. They don’t even provide notes on patient injury. All they are good at charge you the bill as soon as possible. They are quick at issuing huge bill. My brother had fracture within first visit we realized this is just money making business no care for patients. Please stay away from this horrible place and save time, money , health and peace of mind.

Hands down Josh and Steve are the best in the business. They have incredible focus and expertise. I would highly recommend them for any rehab or problems. However the office and business management lacks tremendously. I must say it does not appear that this location has the focus and care for patients as the Arlington location. I recommend Airrosti!

My experience at TMI with Dr. Seroyer and his team was very positive. They all made me feel comfortable when getting shots in my knees. Everyone was professional as well as knowledgeable. Thank you Dr. Seroyer! Sabrina Papeman

I could not be happier with my shoulder surgery and subsequent therapy!! Dr. Hovis performed a very extensive operation earlier this year. He is very knowledgeable regarding upper extremity surgeries and has a fantastic bedside manner. I did all my PT (4 months' worth) at their Frisco location. They are some of the most authentic and supportive therapists you could find. I do not know if I could have made it back to work (I am a firefighter) without their honest support!! My hats go off to Paul and Travis for the amazing work they do to get people back to their active lifestyles!!

The last few years have been pretty tough for me due to my situation with both of my knees, suffering damaged patellar cartilage. And after being referred from Orthopedist to another (Now on number #4), faith has brought me to TMI Sports Medicine and a gifted individual, Dr. Tariq Hendawi, MD. I have to give much appreciation due to his knowledge and excellent service in getting me taken care of. It really helped me in how relatable he was with my unique situation. I am making good progress after my first week of surgery from the reconstruction of my patellar cartilage. I cannot recommend a better organization as TMI Sports & Medicine or a caring Orthopedist as Dr. Tariq Hendawi, MD. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.

I chose TMI because I called a dozen places to check on PRP injection costs for my tennis elbow. This was, by far, the least expensive clinic. When I went in for consultation, it was hectic with people running and a full lobby. The doctor ensured me that it's not usually this chaotic as they just transitioned over to a new system that day. OK, let's see how it goes next time.Dr. Handecki's (sp) assistant seemed rushed as he talked fast and moved faster. The x-ray was speedy and simple. There was a miscommunication between the doc and I because I asked for a PRP injection but he decided to give me a cortisone shot and didn't really explain it to me. The numbing spray worked within seconds so I couldn't feel him prodding the needle inside my arm. That was nice. Do note that the cortisone shot here is slightly more expensive than other places, but I would say the procedure is more effective because he scraped at the bone to promote blood flow.I attended three sessions of physical therapy and that was enough for me. I saw Josh the first time and he was training a student. Instead of focusing on my ailments, he would question her and let her do most of the work. She didn't really know what she was doing and he wasn't monitoring her for the most part. The second time was with a different PT and it seemed as if she made up exercises on the go. There wasn't a set agenda for me when I walked in. On my third visit, I was handed off to four different PTs. What was the point of that?? I didn't get to build a rapport with anyone as they kept bouncing me around. I will say that everyone is pretty nice and easy to talk to. I think that's imperative because you're in the open room for an hour each session. Also, it is easy to book PT appointments and they are never late getting you in the door even if you show up early. Alright, I came back five weeks later for a follow-up and it was still nuts. Not as many people in the waiting room as the first time, but I still had to wait 45 minutes before seeing the doctor just to say, "OK, you're good." I thank him for helping me heal in the meantime, but he is booked to the brim.

I cannot recommend TMI Frisco more to any athlete or individual with an injury. I came in with a weight lifting related injury and unable to do any form of exercise. Ryan and his entire team showed the best level of care and strategic, thorough planning to help me fully recuperate and feel better than ever. They also helped form important practices and takeaways to implement into my everyday routine, to prevent another return to physical therapy. Cannot recommend more, go visit TMI today!

Paul and Ryan were my main therapists, but everyone here is incredible at their jobs. They always encourage, fire you up, and keep you just around your limit so you can get the maximum benefit. Some days I needed something slower, and they happily obliged. Some days, most days if I'm honest, I asked them to push my limits and they even more happily obliged. Never once did I feel ignored, incapable, or uneducated on what I was doing. I will be taking these stretches and exercises with me for the rest of my life so I can stay healthy. I would recommend this PT to ANYONE for anything. It was an absolutely incredible experience, and I am legitimately saddened that I am done with PT. I looked forward to every single appointment I had, and I will remember their energy and lessons for years and years. Thank you so much, guys. I hope I never have to see you at your job again. If you see me out in the world, let's grab a beer.
