January 13, 2018 Texas Medical Board I would appreciate your assistance in the investigation in the chain of events that rendered me incapacitated from November 15th through December 6th, 2017. I am submitting my concerns from my November 15, 2017 through December 6, 2017 in hospital experience. Is it normal p rotocol for the staples to blow open resulting in the need for a second surgery (that is charged to the patient) after taking two CT scans post-op on November 21st and 25th; lastly contracting an infection at the wound incision if the doctor practiced his due diligence by checking said infection on daily visits.

Upon arriving at Texas Health Alliance ER on November 15th, Dr. Christian Carr, (the general surgeon on call) performed the Laparoscopic Ileocecectomy on my necrotic appendix. I started experiencing nausea after the November 15th, 2017 Laparoscopic Ileocecectomy; therefore, I was given Flagyl 500mg for the nausea since November 18th. I don't give many 5 star reviews, and never in 1,000,000 years would I have thought about giving a Doctor a 5 star most are forced to be watchful least they get a law suit. But this Dr. Is incredible, did a wonderful job with my Hernia repair, but more than that, first he did the surgery himself not a 5 incision robot doing the work, second he was straight forward and honest, no run around, no upsale with another surgery. Day of the surgery he was quick found a second hernia and did the repair for me, most importantly he personally called me from his home to check on me... Incredible care. Simply incredible

I saw Dr Carr for a very unusual case where my appendix was encased in a hernia. I had the emergency surgery to remove appendix and four weeks later for hernia repair. Dr Carr was wonderful throughout the experience. From beginning to end he answered questions and made me feel confident that all would be fine. I would highly recommend Dr Carr to my family and friends.

This Doctor saved my life. I am certain I would not be here today without the expert skill of this surgeon - and many doctors since agree. He is the best.

Dr. Carr called my husband the night of surgery. We got home at 9 pm and he called at 10 pm. He was super nice, informative and professional. We would recommend him highly!

Dr. Carr's assistant called me a day before my scheduled gallbladder removal surgery to cancel explaining I needed a stress test first. I have been in significant pain for over a month and was counting hours and minutes to get this surgery done. It is inexplicable this doctor did not tell me this was needed to be done before scheduling this A WEEK AGO! Further, why did this doctor NOT call me to advise me personally as to why I needed a stress test first, as to which I still have no answer.

I was very impressed with Dr. Carr. Even after learning that his practice did not accept my medical insurance, he evaluated me--at no charge!! This was beyond the call of duty. I recommend him highly.

AT the ER Dr Carr was the on-call surgeon. I needed my appendix out and he took care of me. Bedside manner not so good, but I believe he is a great surgeon. My incisions are very small and my recovery has been fairly easy.

Dr. Carr was direct and to the point on what was going to be done. Excellent bedside manner.
