List of Gavino Dermatology's Reviews
Do not go to this doctor! I had a nice first appointment on Feb 19. Dr Gavino took a biopsy and made another appointment to remove stiches and give me the test results. I drove 45 min to get there but he didn't have the test results. He removed the stiches and made a zoom appointment to give me the results. He never contacted me again. No zoom, no return phone calls, nothing. I called and texted 7 times. The voice mail states that the office doesn't answer calls. I left messages and texts repeatedly but no reply. After 4 months I received a very large bill for the appointment. I still haven't received the test results. Very frustrating. I'm filing a comlaint with TexasMedicalBoard.(TMB.state.tx). I have never had anything like this happen with a physician. Complete con. I suggest anyone else with this problem should also file a complaint.

My Reply: Since I have now been threatened with legal action, I will expand on my statement. Please note, no attempt has yet been made to rectify the problem, no apology has been extended. I still have not received my test results. They are gaslighting me by trying to put blame on me. The review reply says “likely that you were unresponsive) and “likely multiple attempts ( to contact me).” They are apparently guessing whether they returned my call or not. There should have been a record. I have been forced to defend myself. Fortunately, I have records on my cell of all attempts to contact them. The review was intended to bring the lack of communication to their attention and finally deliver my test results. It was not intended to be punitive. Receiving test results should be a given but they still will not do it. I have already seen another physician who is scheduled to do the biopsy again in a few days. My insurance has paid Dr Gavino a total of $487.28 and left me owing $109.26 for services I never received. Communications from me: Feb 19, 1 text from their office, the only communication I have received from them. These are the dates I attempted to contact the office by text, as suggested by the office answering system, since they do not answer the phone and there is no patient portal. Please send me your list of attempted communications.
I’ve seen Dr. Gavino before and was always happy with his care. I wasn’t satisfied with other places I tried after he left his old practice, so I was really glad to find out he now has his own office. My visit was excellent—he’s just as thorough and professional as ever. The office itself is also very nice and tastefully decorated. I’ll be recommending him to my husband and anyone looking for a good dermatologist.
Pleasant experience explained what the procedure was
I initially had a visceral reaction to the financial policies, things like super high penalties for late cancellation and no show well above customary rates, and their requirements to pay the full appointment price before leaving and to keep a credit card on file. All forms I filled out were digital and I was never provided with a copy of anything I signed. Also, I have never been provided with a statement, or any written document. Then they changed their policies for 2025 making things even worse. Since then they have: - Overcharged me. - Not submitted claims to insurance until I prompted them because a month passed after each appointment with no claims submitted. - Owed me money since the beginning of the year. - Refused to refund what they owe. The response I got when I inquired about the overpayment is that Gavino dermatology does not do refunds. Well, as the customer, I do not leave money on deposit with a doctor or any other business unless they're paying me interest. Plus, they're assuming there will be future appointments. Even if there are, I have met my out of pocket max for the year. Are they planning to hold my money until next year? No legitimate business gets to demand full payment at the appointment, then over charge for the appointment, then keep my money AND the insurance money. I understand how financial responsibility works and I have complied with that policy, in fact paying WAY OVER the actual amount I'm responsible for. But once the claim is paid by insurance and there is a balance due to me, they don't get to keep it. There is no patient portal and they refuse to use the telephone so communication with this office is limited to texting. However, my texts are replied by a different person each time with a robo-response.
We encountered a billing issue, and Diane was exceptionally helpful and professional throughout the process. She promptly resolved the matter and ensured everything was corrected. Her professionalism and dedication to customer service are commendable—many could learn from her example.
My first appointment with Dr. Gavino and his team was great. Beautiful clinic, professional looking staff that were kind and courteous from front desk check in, clinical staff to check out. Dr. Gavino was a pleasure. Never felt rushed, took time to listen and explain. And something small to most but important to me, he pronounced my name correctly (which rarely happens). Sometimes is the smallest things that make the biggest difference. Thank you! 10 out of 10 recommend.
He is the best dermatologist in Central Texas. He is worth the drive up to Liberty Hill. He has been able to clear up my eczema and acne! Cannot recommend enough!
Dr. Gavino is amazing he has been the only one that was able diagnose me correctly and has given me hope, I trust him. His staff is amazing and his office is absolutely beautiful and clean!
Terrific experience. Dr. Gavin and his staff are superb! The office and technology used is so high tech-not uncomfortable at all. I was there for a first time "skin check", and he was able to address the concerns I had. Very lighthearted and humorous. But extremely professional. Thank you

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
