I appreciate the staff at Urology Austin but my God communication is atrocious!!! Good luck ever trying to get a hold of anybody. I just have a simple question and it's like pulling teeth trying to get anybody on the phone. Ever heard of a call back option? Guess not!!! After I'm done FINALLY resolving my issue with UA I will never be back unless THEY paid ME to be there. P.S. - To whomever responds to these reviews please don't reply with your scripted corporate response.
As I write this review, I’m also on the phone waiting for someone… anyone… to pick up. I’ve been on IGNORE, (No longer just Hold), for over half an hour. To make matters worse, this is the SIXTH time I’ve tried to reach someone, simply to return a call and message that was left for me. 9sill no one, now hanging up after 38 minutes on IGNORE)
Filled the form online to schedule the appointment - no response within a week. Tried to schedule over the phone maybe 5 times, waited on hold 20 min each - no luck 🤷🏽♂️
Horrible inconvenience. Dr Shatagopam is great - but the staff at this clinic and its lack of organization is atrocious. My appointment was already rescheduled once (by them) but they never canceled the original appointment because I got reminders to check in today. Billing is confusing but they make sure they get paid before a patient is tended. I've given nearly two hours to hold time today, simply to change a future appointment date. I never wanted to go to this location in the first place - I was funneled here because the doctor who performed my procedure at Cedar Park Regional apparently only works out of this location. I would NOT recommend this place.
I really like Dr. Shatagopum, however the office staff and practice model at Urology Austin is terrible. They use a "call center" approach for both phone calls and portal messaging, so it's next to impossible to actually speak with someone at the office. Hold times to speak with an agent are unbearably long and responses to portal messages take a long time. I had a test done recently and it took me 10 days of requesting my results before I finally received them. While the doctor is great, I would not recommend this practice because of the staff and practice model.
Trying to get an appointment was a disaster. No one responded to our phone calls or the phone calls from the head nurse at the rehab facility I was staying. Trying to get a surgery date was also a disaster as the surgery scheduler doesn't answer her phone, and if you let it ring and ring she picks up the receiver and puts it back down to disconnect the call. The doctors may be okay, but the office staff needs replacing.
A very responsive team. I called before new years (December 28th) and had an appointment for an examination January 4 and a hospital outpatient scheduled a week later. A friendly and efficient staff.
Wonderful experience. The staff was warm and welcoming and very efficient. Everything as far as examination was concerned was done in a way to make the patient feel comfortable. My visit with the doctor was right on the scheduled time.
The whole staff was great. Dr. Maloney was very professional and took the time to answer all my questions. I highly recommend Urology Austin!
Dr Long was very thorough and explained as he conducted my exam. Outstanding clinician. Glad to have him as my specialist.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
