There seems to be some serious red-flags with this doctor and his aneurysm surgeries. These are stats that I cannot prove with solid evidence, but I know far too many patients who went into the surgery room with Dr. Brown to have an aneurysm dealt with, only to DIE weeks later. He is completely incompetent at this procedure and the number of deaths linked to this surgery should be red-flagged by authorities. If a pilot crashes 2 or 3 planes, do you think Air Canada would put him back on the schedule? So please, find any other surgeon to perform this task. My father was one of the victims.
I cannot believe Dr. Peter Brown is still allowed to practice. He saw my dad for poor blood flow in his feet which resulted in a wound that would not heal. He recommended immediate amputation of the foot up to dad's knee. When I asked if there was any hope of saving his leg, he said: "Not even one in a million!". My dad did not go for the amputation. We went to Ottawa hospital through their emergency department. Surgeons there saved his foot and he still has it two years later. Run, don't walk from Dr. Brown's office!
Rude did not do what was supposed to be done and now 6 months later waiting for another surgery to fix the mess Dr. Brown made...will not be seeing him again!
DR. PETER BROWN IS AN INCREDIBLY RACIST and UNPROFESSIONAL DOCTOR!!! Avoid him at all costs if you are a minority. I am ashamed/horrified that he is part of the medical profession and is such a poor example of a human being. My mother was in need of surgery and was referred to him. I accompanied her to the appointment. He proceeded to be a condescending prick and then said I don't understand your English to me. Keep in mind, I was born, raised, multilingual and highly educated (graduate degrees from 2 eminent Canadian universities) in Canada. So, I did what any good Canadian would do I responded in in rapid but perfect French and asked him if he would feel more comfortable speaking French. He stuttered and was in total disbelief. Then I offered to speak German, Spanish or Swedish. Again, he was unable to respond in any of those languages. I responded if you're merely a unilingual bigot then I suggest you don't insult me by claiming not to understand my English. He acted as though he would be my mother's surgeon. Before the end of the consultation, I told him that I cannot trust such a racist doctor to perform my mother's surgery and walked out never to return again. Should any future patients be mistreated by this simple assinine imbecile, please remember to complain loudly to the College of Physicians since he violates all the patient - doctor relationship elements listed here: https://www.cpso.on.ca/Public/Public-Information/You-and-Your-Doctor Here's the complain form and remember he is part of the old Canadian healthcare system that is ruled by ignorance, hate and systemic racism: https://www.cpso.on.ca/Public/Services/Complaints This doctor is utter scum and a blight on the KGH. KGH: you really are in dire need of a wake-up call for the insidiously large number racist doctors and social workers that work there.
This man saved my life and my leg after a major accident
To me, Dr. Brown is an empathetic and very skilled surgeon who took time to address questions and concerns before and after surgery. His presence left no doubt that he was in charge and there for me. He and his team function like a well maintained machine with every piece in place when needed. I am so grateful.
It is with pure disgust that i have to acknowledge this person as part of the same species. I certainly refuse to call him a human being as he doesn't seem to know how to be one. If you are looking to be treated with respect, empathy or even simple common courtesy, look elsewhere. This "doctor" couldn't be bothered with those. My father had the misfortune of encountering this piece of offal. Surgery after surgery was pushed back. When it was finally scheduled and my father arrived in preparation for the surgery, this "doctor" proceeded to terrify and denigrate him, that he was a burden, it was a waste of time and it was going to kill him anyway. That this arrogant scum is permitted to practice is absolutely shocking. This is one of our health professionals?? What is happening within the College of Physicians that is producing a "doctor" like this?? Is this behavior being approved by the College now? Thankfully there are other real doctors that actually care about their patients. If you somehow get saddled with this person, dont waste time. Just demand someone else, you or your loved one will be better off.
Dr. Brown has been seeing my Dad for months now for lack of blood flow in his feet. We were told 3 weeks ago that my Dad needed immediate amputation of his left leg, below the knee. He was scheduled in for surgery less than a week later. We were then called as we were leaving the house to make our way to the hospital that Dr. Brown cancelled the surgery with no reason, it was rescheduled for a week later. A week later we received another, cancelling the surgery yet again with no rhyme or reason other than the surgery was supposed to happen the Tuesday following a long weekend, even the ER nurse that called us assumed Dr. Brown just wanted an extended weekend. While my Dad's health and pain were getting worse, Dr. Brown cancelled two surgeries over the course of two weeks before the amputation was finally done. A surgery Dr. Brown insisted was needed immediately but didn't because of unknown reasons.
Dr Brown is a very caring and friendly doctor.
My late husband had the misfortune to have Dr Brown operate on him for an aneurysm. Dr Brown is the rudest doctor I have ever met. He walks into a room - meeting his patient for the first time - and does not introduce himself or speak - he goes right to his computer - then leaves the room for another 30 minutes before returning - he is ignorant and has no bedside manner. While waiting on the table for the surgery my husband had to yell at him to turn down the power of the local anesthetic as it was 'burning him from the inside out'. He was black and blue when he returned home. After the surgery he neither spoke to me or my husband with any instructions. We were told by the nurse to return in 10 days to have the stitches taken out - he never spoke - he just looked at the incision and then left the room. My husband passed away two months after his terrible encounter with Dr Brown - and my husband had been a very fit and healthy man until then.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
